The Sons of Norway brought holiday cheer into the homes of members of the Stoughton community on Monday, Dec. 30.

For over a decade, the group has traveled around Stoughton, caroling at members’ homes and delivering bags of treats in a tradition known as Julebukking.

Stoughton library working on becoming more inclusive

Over the next few years, the state is asking its member libraries to take steps to better listen to underrepresented voices in their communities.

In Stoughton, this has led to a policy change that eliminates the question asking for gender on library card applications and a short list of immediate goals, such as increasing the font size on hold slips and improving signage and wayfinding.

Trenton Dow (138 pounds), Gavin Model (145), Braeden Whitehead (152), Luke Mechler (160), Luke Spilde (170), Brooks Empey (220) and Griffin Empey (285) won by pin.

The Viking Snowdrifters club celebrated 50 years of service this December. We spoke with six members of the club, including the co-founder Roger Nitzsche. ‪The Stoughton wrestling team finished second with 221 points as the hosts of the Badger State Invitational on Saturday, Dec. 21, at the Alliant Energy Center in Madison.

Rose Ann Marshall won the 113-pound title in the girls tournament.
