Check one out in the Senior Center in Stromsburg or Polk or the Library in Osceola.

There is no registration and they are open to everyone.

*If you'd like to make a donation, you can put items directly in the little free food pantry or drop them off at Calvary Lutheran Swede Home

The Shelby-Rising City Schools Huskies win again 54-14 over the Bloomfield Bees. Next Friday they will play Pender in Shelby!

The Shelby EUB Church, officially named as the Castle Memorial Evangelical United Brethren Church, was demolished on Thursday. The village of Shelby decided to demolish the building as it was in very bad shape and deemed a hazard.

Our best guess is Cross County Community Schools volleyball will play AT Morrill on Saturday. Not official yet, but all subdistrict games in D-1 have been played. NSAA probably waiting until C2 and C1 are done to release all district pairings/times.

STROMSBURG - It’s not about the stats said Sydney Hengelfelt as she led her team to victory and a district final on Saturday. Cross County pulled out the win in 4 sets: 25-7, 23-25, 26-24 and 25-18.

HEBRON- The Shelby-Rising Huskies’ season was on the line Tuesday night as they faced the 19-6 Yutan Chieftains in the first of two semifinals of the C2-3 subdistrict at Thayer Central High School in Hebron.

Volleyball early this week, which screws up our mental calendars. Osceola and High Plains lost yesterday and finish their seasons. Shelby-Rising City Schools fought hard but lost today to Yutan. Cross County won in 4 sets to Howells-Dodge and will play in districts on Saturday (place and opponent TBA). Great job girls! It's been a great season of volleyball in Polk County!
