CITY OF STROUD UPDATE

The City of Stroud has posted the official minutes from the July 7 Stroud Industrial Authority meeting, which included discussion of an Authority board appointment, property in the Stroud Industrial Park and a proposed airport hangar.

The city is also expanding how residents can stay informed. City Clerk Jennifer Davis has been working on a new notification service that will allow residents to sign up for monthly emails with direct links to newly posted city meeting agendas and minutes.

The goal is to make it easier for residents to follow city business and stay connected to what’s happening in Stroud.

The Stroud Band is an important part of Friday Night Lights, but the work behind each performance goes far beyond halftime.

From long rehearsals in the Oklahoma heat to competitions, early mornings and late nights, these students show dedication, discipline and teamwork alongside their director, parents and volunteers.

A MESSAGE FROM THE CHIEF | Keeping Stroud’s Students Safe

With school back in full swing, Stroud Police Chief Clint Ga***rd is reminding drivers to slow down, stay alert and use extra caution around our schools.

Students are walking, riding bikes, crossing streets and getting on and off buses throughout the day. A few extra seconds of patience can make a big difference.

Please obey school-zone speed limits, put away distractions and never pass a stopped school bus with its lights activated.

STROUD SPORTS HIGHLIGHT | Lady Tigers

The Stroud Lady Tigers Softball have battled through a challenging start to the 2026 season, showing plenty of fight under first-year head coach Alli Johnson.

Stroud opened the year with wins over Hominy, 11-5, in extra innings and Wellston, 11-0, before facing a tough Cushing Tournament field that included Class 5A and 6A opponents. Although the Lady Tigers went 1-4 at the tournament, all four losses came by two runs or fewer, including one-run battles with Sapulpa and Muskogee.

Through eight games, Stroud has collected 61 hits and scored 37 runs, with several big offensive innings along the way.

The early schedule hasn’t been easy, but the Lady Tigers are showing they can compete — and there’s plenty of season still ahead.
