Just an hour ago, discovering this lecture of my Dad's (John De Cuir, Sr.) in 1981 took my breath away. (I have no other film of him.) Beyond the wonderful sentimental feelings of hearing his voice again, I was most awed by the whole final segment on special effects and his incredible futuristic vision. Bear in mind his special effects work two years later on Ghostbusters. 💓

In 1981, the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences created a lecture series on film design which featured the emergence of the art of production design...
