Attended a screening of at yesterday, with Q&A featuring director Jon M Chu and his amazing team - editorial, cinematography, and music! A super fun film in every way, even better than Movie 1 (can you believe it?!!). Glitzy but lots of soul. One scene that stood out for me was when Elfeba tells the conman Wizard of Oz that she will expose his lies to the people of Oz. The Wizard responds that they will never believe her, that they believe all the lies he has fed them and no matter what she says, they will believe him. SOUND FAMILIAR?!! Now who could I possibly mean? 🤔🤔🤔 From a movie and standpoint, the film is completely enchanting, and worth seeing in a theater - but given my typical posts, I figured y’all would appreciate that scene from #50501
