🔥 This afternoon at approximately 1:25 p.m. the Egg Harbor Fire Department along with Mutual Partners were dispatched to 7770 STH 42 the Main Street Market in the Village of Egg Harbor for the report of the roof being on fire. Chief MacDonald reports: 🚨
“Prior to our arrival Sheriff's Deputies advised there was smoke and flames coming from the roof area near the loading dock, upon our arrival flames could be seen on the roof.”
“Firefighters quickly laddered the building and found a small area of burning heat tape, the heat tape was disconnected and removed from the building. Firefighters checked the area on the roof along with the interior of the building for any extension and found none, damage was limited to the heat tape itself.”
“We would like to commend the Employees of the Main Street Market for quickly evacuating the store to ensure no one was injured.”
“We would also like to thank our Mutual Aid Partners from Sister Bay/Liberty Grove Fire Dept, Baileys Harbor Fire and Rescue, Ephraim Firefighters Association, Jacksonport Fire Dept, Gibraltar Fire - Rescue Association Inc., Sturgeon Bay Fire Department, Door County Sheriff's Office, Gibraltar Police, Door County EMS and Door County Dispatch for assisting with the call.”
“All Fire Units cleared the scene at approximately 2:15 p.m. Thursday Afternoon.”
