Prairie Heights drops game to West Noble 40-19

(LIGONIER) – Prairie Heights traveled to Ligonier and dropped an NECC non-divisional game to the West Noble Chargers 40-19. David Mason had 6 carries for 104 yards and 2 touchdowns for the Panthers. Easton Coney rushed for a 15 yard TD, while Weston Rasler had 13 carries for 52 yards. Mason led the defense with 8 tackles. Mason Brandeberry had 7 tackles and Joel Graber had 5 tackles. Prairie Heights ends the regular season at 1-8. West Noble is now 8-1.

(CONSTANTINE) – Host Constatine jumped out to a 20-0 lead after one quarter and the No. 6 Falcons beat Delton-Kellogg 49-7 in a SAC Division A game. Cooper McGee led the ground game with 8 carries for 109 yards and a TD. Maddix Jancasz had 7 carries for 39 yards and 2 scores. Braden Bienz was 1 of 2 for 50 yards for a touchdown. Chase Manes had 5 tackles to lead the Constantine defense while McGee had 4 stops. Constantine is now 7-1 overall and in the Division.

(COLON) – Bellevue scores the first points of the game, but host and No. 7 Colon then scored 49 straight points to beat the Broncos 49-8 in an SCAA Red Division match up. The Magi had 493 yards of total offense, with 339 coming on the ground. Jabari Falls had 16 carries for 149 yards and 5 touchdowns. Dylan Smith had 5 carries for 53 yards and a score. Jeremiah West was 9 of 13 for 154 yards and an interception while he also had 10 carries for 92 yards. Tucker Davis had 10 tackles to lead the defense. Braiden Burbank had 8 tackles as Colon improves to 7-1 and 3-1 in the SCAA Red Division. Bellevue is 1-7 and 0-4 in the Division.

(CLIMAX) – It had the feeling of a playoff game last night as the No. 1 Mendon Hornets traveled to Climax-Scotts for an SCAA Red Division game against the No. 8 Panthers. Mendon would score in the fourth quarter and play good defense to get a 28-24 win over the Panthers. Zak Iobe had 22 carries for 104 yards and 4 touchdowns for the Hornets. Owen Klinger had 8 carries for 66 yards and was also 3 of 4 for 78 yards with a big completion to keep a drive going in the third quarter. Iobe led the defense with 7 tackles. Bryce Zagon added 5 tackles. With the win, Mendon is now 8-0 overall and 4-0 and the SCAA Red Division and wins the Division Championship for 2026. Climax-Scotts is 6-2 and 2-2 in the Division.

Three Rivers falls to No. 8 Paw Paw 50-7

(PAW PAW) – The Three Rivers football team traveled to Paw Paw and fell to the No. 8 Red Wolves 50-7 in a Wolverine Conference contest. The Wildcats only touchdown came on a pass from Gavin Bent to Caiden Westcomb. Three Rivers was held to 127 yards of total offense, with Canady Marzett leading the ground game with 11 carries for 63 yards. Three Rivers is now 2-6 overall and 1-5 in the conference.

Sturgis beats Otsego 36-16 for 2nd straight win

(STURGIS) – Down early host Sturgis would take a lead at the end of the first half and never look back as the Trojans beat visiting Otsego 36-16 on Parent and Senior Night. Liam McKinley was 14 f 23 for 172 yards, 2 TD’s and an interception. Becket Lamb also threw for a touchdown and returned an interception for another score that gave Sturgis the lead. Christian Alvez led the Sturgis defense with 9 tackles while Beckett Lamb had 5 tackles. Sturgis gets their first home win and has won back to back games since beating Three Rivers on October 7, 2022. Sturgis is 3-5 overall and 2-5 in the conference Otsego falls to 2-6 and 1-5 in the Wolverine.

Area golfers in action on Day 1 of the MHSAA Girls State Finals

(UNDATED) – Some area girls golfers were in action on Day #1 of the MHSAA State Finals. At the Division 3 Finals at the Katke Golf Course, Elizabeth Oestrike of Three Rivers is golfing as an individual is 23rd after an opening round of 23. At the Division 4 Finals at The Meadows Golf Course, Colon’s Natalie Bingaman is competing as an individual and finds herself 19th after shooting an opening round 97. At the Division 2 finals at the Forest Akers West Golf Course in East Lansing, Coldwater is seventh after round one action and a team score of 367. Aubrey Eberts shot an 80 to lead the lady Cardinals which ties her for seventh.

(PAW PAW) – Three Rivers traveled to Paw Paw and beat the Lady Red Wolves in Wolverine Conference volleyball 2-0 (25-9, 25-15, 25-10). Liv Wenzel had 14 kills and 4 digs. Kenna Plotts added 16 assists, 5 digs and 5 aces. Three Rivers improves to 2-4 in the conference.
