Last ducks of the year.
Surreal doesn’t quite cover it. The season closing the way it opened, cold and honest, hands stiff from the freeze, faces lit by barrel burners and stories that only come after shared work. The kind of cold that reminds you you’re alive. The kind of quiet that only breaks when wings cut the air.
This is year ten.
Ten long years chasing ducks across states and countries. Ten years of early alarms, muddy boots, missed shots, perfect shots, and lessons learned the hard way. We’ve been humbled more times than we can count. We’ve been blessed in ways that don’t show up on paper. And we’ve been freezing cold more mornings than feels reasonable.
Every single day this season, we got to do this with our best friends. Somewhere along the way, the circle grew. What started small became something bigger, something shared. There are a lot of us now, and that’s something I don’t take lightly.
I’m grateful for everyone who plays a role in this experience. From the first message, to the planning, to the handshake at the truck in the dark. Every detail matters. Every guest matters.
This year we shot more birds than ever. Our data-driven approach to hunting continues to exceed even my own expectations. But numbers never tell the full story. I found myself humbled in frozen timber alongside people from completely different worlds. Different paths, same cold, same birds, same respect. Good hunting has a way of stripping things down and making everyone equal.
To the returning guests, some of you eight years in a row now, thank you. Your trust, your loyalty, and your friendship mean more than you know.
Looking ahead, we’re going to sell out next year. More timber is coming. New swamp is coming. And we’ll keep pushing to improve the guest experience in ways that matter, quietly, deliberately, the right way.
Stay safe this offseason. We want to see every one of you back next year.
Until then, we’ll be thinking ducks and dreaming geese every day.
