Feeling my healthiest by doing weird things that are actually basic af? I think yes ✅

Here’s what I learned from that relationship:

I had every luxury item I wanted at any time. All the vacations, it was beautiful but it felt so empty. I was depressed, anxious and lost my period and hair.

The relationship was toxic for me, but from the outside I had the dream life.

Now, I ask myself these questions and these are my standard. If one of them is a “no”, it’s a dealbreaker.

Are they…

1. Supportive - do they support who you want to be?
2. Reliable - do they do what they say they’re gonna do?
3. Safe - do they make you feel safe? Do they ever lose their temper with you?
4. Real connection - can you get lost in each others eyes?
5. Conversation - can you have a deep convo? Are they your favorite person to talk to? So many people say that marriage is one long conversation.
6. Long term vision - do they share your family vision? Do they want the same dynamic as you?
7. Adventure - do you want to go experience new things with this person?
8. Playfulness - do they make you feel lighter?
9. True masculinity - do they truly make you feel like a woman (you can turn your brain off bc you know they can protect you)
10. Shared interests - do you have stuff in COMMON? Things you like to work towards : do together?

Let’s start with air:

Most people wake up, get in a car, work indoors, gym indoors, drive home, sleep. 0 time outside. We spend 90% of our lives indoors, and that’s just not the lifestyle our natural bodies were made for. It’s hard to feel calm, grounded and healthy without fresh air circulating through your body.

Water.
Most water we drink is stripped of the minerals that hydrate us. Water without minerals stresses our cells and leaves us still dehydrated. Those minerals were made so our bodies could actually absorb it.

Movement:
Being sedentary is a carcinogen. The WHO links inactivity to higher breast and colon cancer risk. 1 hour at the gym isn’t enough. You don’t need workout supplements, you need to walk, bike, take the stairs, move on your dates.

Food…
The standard American diet is blatantly unhealthy, 60% of its calories come from ultra-processed items that shouldn’t even be food. Eat like your great great grandmother:

Stay on the outskirts of the grocery store
Nothing with a long ingredient list, gums or seed oils (canola, vegetable = don’t buy)
Single ingredient most of the time

Connection:
Loneliness is an epidemic, the surgeon general says it carries the same mortality risk as smoking 15 ci******es a day. Social media tricks us into feeling almost connected, but not quite. Giving back and being part of a community makes for a happier, healthier you.

-eat meals with others
-take walks with friends
-call your mom

Most people don’t need a stack of 50 supplements to be healthy. Go back to basics.
