BREAKING | FOREIGN MINISTRY OPENS INVESTIGATION INTO ALLEGED MISUSE OF OFFICIAL DOCUMENT

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MFAIC) has commenced a formal investigation into allegations surrounding the alleged misuse of official Ministry documentation in connection with a visa application submitted to a diplomatic mission.

The matter follows a formal complaint concerning a Note Verbale reportedly submitted in 2023, which allegedly requested visas for an individual and another person described as their executive assistant.

However, the complaint claims that the documentation was submitted without the knowledge or consent of the individual named in the document.

Following the complaint, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation has established an internal investigative committee to urgently examine the matter.

The committee is expected to fo the following:

Review the relevant documentation and procedures
Establish the facts surrounding the visa application
Determine how the document was submitted
Provide findings and recommendations to the Ministry

The allegations remain subject to investigation, and no conclusions should be drawn until the committee completes its work.
