Holmes/Tuscarawas Co: State Route 39 is closed west of Sugarcreek at the Holmes/Tuscarawas Co. line to State Route 515 in Walnut Creek due to a crash. The estimated time of reopening is unknown.

Thankfully, no one was injured in this roof collapse in West Union, Ohio at Miller Furniture, Bakery, and Bulk Foods on January 7. Work has already begun to fix the damage. Thanks to Todd Fell for these images. For more info and photos, pick up the January 15 issue of The Budget.

Details

Low relative humidity values resulting from exceptionally dry
weather will impose an increased risk for fire danger this
afternoon. Relative humidity values are expected to drop into the
upper 20 to low 30 percent range during peak heating hours across
eastern Ohio and western Pennsylvania. In addition, easterly wind
gusts to 15-20 mph at times, highest in the PA ridges, are
expected this afternoon which may also help to locally drop
relative humidity values further as well. Exercise enhanced
caution with activities that involve open flames or sparks as
fires can easily spread in these weather conditions.
