October 21, 2025

On October 20, 2025, the Gasconade County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a male subject who had been shot in the 3000 block of Idel Road near Rosebud, Missouri. The suspect had fled into nearby woods armed with an AR-15 rifle and made threats to shoot law enforcement officers if they arrived on scene.

Upon arrival, deputies located the victim, who had sustained a single gunshot wound to the right leg. Simultaneously, the suspect was seen exiting the woods and ultimately surrendered to deputies without further incident.

During the incident, the suspect’s mother was also arrested for interfering with and resisting law enforcement efforts.

Deputies transported the victim in the bed of a patrol vehicle to a waiting ambulance. The victim was later airlifted to Mercy Hospital in St. Louis for further medical treatment.

Both the suspect and his mother were transported to the Franklin County Adult Detention Facility pending formal charges.

As of October 21, 2025, the following charges have been filed pursuant to a warrant issued by Gasconade County:

Carson J. Adams, of Rosebud, Missouri:
* Domestic Assault – 1st Degree (Serious Physical Injury)
* Armed Criminal Action
Bond: $50,000 cash-only

Cynthia A. Adams, of Rosebud, Missouri:
* Resisting/Interfering with Arrest, Detention, or Stop
* Interfering with a First Responder – 1st Offense Bond: $1,000 cash or surety

The Gasconade County Sheriff’s Office extends its gratitude to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Bland Police Department, Rosebud-Gerald Fire Department, and Gerald Ambulance District for their assistance.

A special thank you goes to Gasconade County Communications for their critical role in maintaining communication with the suspect and successfully persuading him to surrender peacefully.

***All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.***

Gasconade County Sheriff’s Office Responds to Active Shooter Incident Near Rosebud

Gasconade County, MO — On October 20, 2025, the Gasconade County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to a residence near Rosebud, Missouri, for a report of an active shooter.

Due to the close proximity to the incident, Gerald Elementary School and Rosebud Immanuel Lutheran School were immediately placed on lockdown as a precautionary measure.

Both schools have since been released from lockdown, and there is no longer an active threat to the public.

The investigation into this incident remains active and ongoing. One male suspect has been taken into custody. A formal press release with additional details will be provided at a later time.

A hit and run accident several weeks ago took the life of Nick Miller.
