2025 Super Visa Update: New Minimum Income Requirements

The minimum gross income requirements for the Canada Super Visa have been updated for 2025.

To invite parents or grandparents under the Super Visa program, the host (child or grandchild in Canada) must now meet the revised income thresholds. These changes help ensure the host can provide adequate financial support during the visitor’s stay.

IRCC Update (Effective July 29, 2025):
Applicants who are refused a TRV, Study Permit, Work Permit, or Visitor Record will now automatically receive officer decision notes with their refusal letter.

This improves transparency and helps clients understand why their application was refused—no need to request GCMS notes separately.

🔹 Applies only to applications not submitted through the new IRCC Portal
🔹 More application types will be added over time
🔹 Some notes may be partially withheld for privacy or security reasons

Canada’s immigration system is under pressure as IRCC struggles with a total of 2.19 million applications across all categories.
🔹 1.34 million are being processed on time
🔹 But a staggering 842,800 applications are now in backlog, exceeding normal service standards.

Here’s the current status by category:
🛂 Temporary Residence:
• 1,040,700 total apps
• 64% (661,100) within service timelines

🏡 Permanent Residence:
• 896,100 total apps
• Only 54% (480,300) on time

🇨🇦 Citizenship:
• 252,700 total apps
• 81% (205,300) within standards

📉 These numbers raise serious concerns for newcomers and applicants waiting in limbo.
