One week ago today, my baby became a teenager šā¤ļø everyone told me how fast the years would go but itās hard to grasp until it happens to you. Iāve spent the last week going through old photos and videos of my sweet Charlie Barley and am just overwhelmed with how lucky I am that God picked me to be his mom. I could not be more proud of his amazing, gentle soul, and I cannot wait to see what the next year has in store for him. In no particular order:
1. His first day of 7th grade š
2. Every year, on the night before their birthdays I ask them how old they are, until they fall asleep, so I can soak up every last second of their littleness. They pretend to hate it but they secretly love it.
3. My best cuddler.
4. The hardest sleeper youāve ever met. One time I found him fast asleep, after falling onto the floor, with his feet still up on the bed.
5. Forever afraid of thunder.
6. The most handsome boy Iāve ever seen.
7. Never would admit to being on a date with his mom but butter knives to the face are fair game.
8. Loves his sister so hard.
9. My little philosopher.
10. Never met a boat he didnāt like.
11. His favorite game when he was little was to play pretend airplane in the hallway with his sister and me.
12. His second favorite game was āfeet airplaneā. He would make me do it over and over again until my legs gave out.
13. Always frustrated with Alexa, like the rest of us.
14. I canāt think of a single shenanigan he wonāt get into.
15. Messiest eater on the planet.
16. Loved his great grandmother so hard. He was always so gentle with her.
17. Same with babies.
18. My literal twin.
19. The way he used to say āready, steady, goā š„¹
20. The day after he was born ā¤ļø I donāt think Iāve ever seen a prettier baby.
