When attorney Paul Dans, the “architect of Project 2025,” visited Summerville on the campaign trail Thursday, Nov. 20, he had several words for Republican United States Sen. Lindsey Graham, his Trump-endorsed opponent.

“It’s like that famous philosopher Meatloaf used to sing about the prospect of voting for Lindsey Graham for a fifth term in the U.S. Senate,” Dans said. “We would do anything for Trump, but we won’t do that.”

Project 2025 architect Paul Dans campaigned in Summerville, criticizing Sen. Lindsey Graham and outlining his agenda during a John Birch Society-hosted event.

After the executive session, council members voted unanimously (except for the recused) to sell the land. Council member Richard Waring, who voted in favor of the sale, explained the deal.

“I had three goals in mind,” Waring said. “I was just hoping we could accomplish those because the people that live in that area weren’t looking for development of any kind, so my personal three goals were to recoup the funds that were used to purchase the property, which was one goal. Another goal was to [sell to] someone who didn’t want to do anything to it and still have a say in what takes place there in the future, as far as the town government. That’s what we were able to accomplish.”
