This week on The Grind presented by Bank of Clarendon is Crestwood Knight CJ Wofford

During the last two seasons, there has been one constant for the offense of the Crestwood football team: Calvin "CJ" Wofford Jr.

The senior has the size to bully defenders mixed with the speed to run away from them, and he's used both to his advantage throughout his high school career. Combining his junior year with the first four games of his senior season, CJ has surpassed 2,000 yards on the ground, providing elite production for a Crestwood program that wants to make a splash in their move back down to SCHSL 3A.

"I really just want to play football, to be honest, so that's really what motivated me," CJ said of his strong start to the season. "It really helps out, the O-line doing their job, and the receivers also blocking."

The Sumter High volleyball team had a tough season opener tonight, falling 3-0 to Blythewood. The Lady Gamecocks made a push in the third set, but lost a tough battle 25-19. SHS will look to bounce back tonight at West Florence.

East Clarendon takes home the win in their region opener against Manning!

After trading the first two sets, the Lady Wolverines won 25-20, 25-13 to clinch the victory.
