Now officially named the Moonless International Film Festival & Screenwriters/Playwrights Competition, we’re thrilled to announce new dates and an exciting new venue for this year’s celebration of storytelling!

NEW DATES: September 11th–13th, 2026
NEW VENUE: Hosted and presented by The Sumter Little Theatre following the closing of the historic Sumter Opera House for renovations.

In addition to our acclaimed film and screenplay categories, we’ve added brand-new categories for playwrights and are offering incredible new prizes for creators across all disciplines!

The Moonless International Film Festival proudly announces Tanya Price as the recipient of the 2025 Trailblazer Award, celebrating her groundbreaking contributions to cinema.

What is a Trailblazer?

A trailblazer is someone who pioneers new paths, challenges conventions, and inspires others through innovation and courage. Tanya Price exemplifies this spirit, consistently pushing boundaries in storytelling and representation.

Tanya Price: A Multifaceted Visionary

Tanya Price is an accomplished actress, producer, and model, as well as the owner of Queen Tutt Productions. Her dynamic career encompasses a range of roles, showcasing her versatility and dedication to the craft. Notably, she played Melissa Voke in Revelations (2025), a film that blends Nollywood's emotional depth with the cinematic landscapes of Utah. In the upcoming production, A Guardian's Heart & SWAT: Athena's Protocol for Moonless Media & Entertainment, she will portray Athena, further demonstrating her range as an actress.

Beyond acting, Tanya has taken on multiple behind-the-scenes roles, including producer, casting director, and production designer, reflecting her comprehensive understanding of the filmmaking process.

It is hard to believe that one year ago today, our Executive Director, Wayne Burdette, decided to pursue the dream of having an International Film Festival. That dream grew even bigger when the choice was made to also include a Film Festival honoring those who dedicate their lives to telling Family and Faith-Based Entertainment.

Moonless International Film Festival & Romans VIII Film Festival were born, and this past weekend, hosted at the excellent Sumter Opera House during one of the largest festivals in the South, the Sumter Iris Festival, going on its 82nd year, both festivals were held.

There are so many people to thank for their help; without them, the event would have never happened. THANK YOU!!!!

Here is a look back at this past weekend and the individuals who were brought together, some as strangers, but all left as extended family. Of course, some family volunteers don't like their picture taken, but from the bottom of our hearts, THANK YOU!!!
