Luke 12:32-48

Dear Parishioners,

In this Sunday’s Gospel, Jesus reminds us of what truly matters in life—the choices we make, the priorities we set, and the way we make use of the time and opportunities given to us. He encourages us to remain watchful, faithful, and ready, always with hearts pointed toward heaven.

“Do not be afraid, little flock, for it is your Father’s good pleasure to give you the kingdom.” These words are filled with comfort and promise. God’s love is not distant or conditional—it’s generous, near, and always inviting us deeper into trust.

Let this be a week of renewed purpose. May we seek not just success by world standards, but fulfillment through kindness, service, and prayer. Whether in small choices or large sacrifices, we are called to live as stewards of grace, shining light where there is darkness and hope where there is uncertainty.

To each parishioner: Your life matters. Your actions echo far beyond what you see. Let this Gospel fill you with courage to live boldly in faith, joyfully in love, and confidently in the knowledge that God is always working through you.

We are each entrusted with gifts, opportunities, and the grace to respond. Whether you're caring for a loved one, offering a kind word to a neighbor, or simply doing your daily work with integrity, you are living the Gospel.

Let us be a parish that chooses wisely, acts kindly, and stands ready—not just because we expect Christ to come, but because we recognize He is already walking with us.

May this week bless you with clarity of heart, strength of purpose, and joy in knowing that you are deeply loved and divinely guided. Stay awake and focused. Be ready. And let your heart be found faithful.

An August Reflection from our Knights of Columbus Grand Knight, Caleb Franson.

August is a month traditionally dedicated to the Blessed Virgin Mary. The Catholic Church honors her unique role in salvation history as the Mother of God, or Theotokos. This title was formally affirmed at the Council of Ephesus in 431 AD. It recognizes that Mary gave birth to Jesus Christ, who is fully God and fully man. As the Mother of God, Mary is not merely the mother of Jesus’ human nature, but of the person of Jesus Christ, who is divine. Her humble “yes” (Luke 1:38) to the angel Gabriel opened the way for the Incarnation, making her the first disciple and the model of perfect obedience to God’s will.

The Church also celebrates the Assumption of Mary, body and soul into heavenly glory,. The Solemnity of the Assumption of Mary is observed on Friday August 15th. The Assumption has been a consistent part of Tradition and was dogmatically defined by Pope Pius XII in 1950. The Catechism of the Catholic Church teaches: "Finally the Immaculate Virgin, preserved free from all stain of original sin, when the course of her earthly life was finished, was taken up body and soul into heavenly glory, and exalted by the Lord as Queen over all things, so that she might be the more fully conformed to her Son, the Lord of lords and conqueror of sin and death.” The Assumption of the Blessed Virgin is a singular participation in her Son's Resurrection and an anticipation of the resurrection of other Christians (CCC 966). This doctrine emphasizes Mary's purity and her intimate union with Christ, showing the destiny that awaits all the faithful. Her Assumption is both a sign of hope and a source of intercession for the Church on earth.

Remember: Go forth and fear nothing, Mary will help you!

Memorare
Remember, O most gracious Virgin Mary, that never was it known that anyone who fled to thy protection, implored thy help, or sought thy intercession, was left unaided. Inspired by this confidence I fly unto thee, O Virgin of virgins, my Mother. To thee do I come, before thee I stand, sinful and sorrowful. O Mother of the Word Incarnate, despise not my petitions, but in thy mercy hear and answer me.
