I’m sitting at my hotel window with a direct view of the Empire State Building. My how things have come full circle. Tonight I hosted the Jerusalem Post New York Gala at the Eden Art Gallery in midtown. I opened and closed the night and had the honor of welcoming impressive change-makers to the stage. Not only was the art in our venue (Eden Art Gallery) colorful and impressive, but the content of the programming was truly inspiring.
I found myself wiping a tear as Maayan Dee came off the stage after sharing her story of surviving the Nova Festival. Most importantly, she’s been keeping the name of her friend Sivan alive. Sivan was killed at the event. I was choked up.
The next speaker, Chagit Leviev-Sofiev talked about how important it is to give Jewish children an education. One that really gives the a Jewish identity. I was inspired.
Tomorrow we have a full day of programming, which I’ll be presenting to the hundreds of people passing through our New York Conference.
I’m right back where I started my career — in Manhattan. And I feel confident that my reporting and coverage is so much more meaningful than it ever could have been if I had never left.
