I filmed all these clips of my process building the studio in my previous apartment because I had thought I was going to release a video showing how I made it. I ended up releasing videos of it bombed to smithereens. And now I am releasing a video of me doing it all over again and in a new space.

THE THANK YOU PART:

There were a lot of people who helped me get back on my feet after an Iranian missile struck my apartment building on June 16, 2025 and took down the Israel Daily News studio, which I had just finished building weeks before.

Thank you to the community who brought me clothes and toothbrushes, the girl I’ve never met who dropped off a cosmetics bag for my first night as a displaced person (I had not thought about needing a toothbrush), the special people in my life who fundraised for me so I could have time to breathe (State compensation came 3-4 months later), my Israel Daily News sponsors, the Genesis 123 foundation that sent funds for new equipment, my handy life-long friends who built things with me and the realtor who put me at the top of her list when I was apartment hunting from a hotel room.

Thank you to Ahron from Intent Media, Ari Gottesman with the vision, my nextdoor neighbor Tal and so many others who really showed up.

Cheers.

I grew up in an Italian-American community in south Queens where Christmas got a lot of play and I was surrounded by more pignoli cookies than Hanukkah latkes. I love and have been loved by so many Christians and Catholics.

Now, when I experience the holidays here in Israel, it is strange for me that December 25th is just another day for nearly 8 million people. (Out of 10 million). So I went out of my way this year to seek places observing Christmas. And then I wrote about it.

I’ve been reflecting on the true meaning of Christmas, especially in the face of rising global anti-Christian sentiment and violence against Christian communities and ESPECIALLY violence against Jews… in NYC no less!! The videos break me.

A highlight of my week was speaking with Sister Monika Krämer, a German nun in Mi’ilya, who guided me through my research for a piece in the Jerusalem Post Magazine about winter traditions in northern Israel. Her wisdom, especially her reminder that the spirit of Christmas is about supporting the poor, touched me deeply.

She also taught me that the modern representation of Santa Claus is a Coca Cola marketing ploy from the early 1900s. Saint Nicholas was a bishop who gave gifts to poor children. Read my article about winter festivities in Israel!

I tried to take a break in October. I really did.
Seven hours in Paris on my way home to see family—after months of rebuilding my life following an Iranian missile striking my apartment while I was inside it. And then, at 2 a.m., Trump announces the peace plan. So instead of packing, I went live. From Tel Aviv. From the plane. From Paris. From New York.

I find it challenging to both do my work and update the world on the work I’m doing via social media. But this is what matters today. Whether I like it or not. —But there was at least one takeaway from being a reporter with a cell phone — this time I learned I can bring myself to the story, wherever I am. 🇮🇱✈️🇫🇷🇺🇸

This past week, I was the Master of Ceremonies (host) for the Jerusalem Post’s first-ever Washington Conference inside the halls of the House and the Senate in the US Capitol. It was intense — shifting schedules that changed our lineup, senators entering in and out, VIP egos and time crunches — but it was electric.

This is the type of work where I feel I truly shine. My favorite interview was with Congressman Randy Fine, the first member of Congress to wear a kippah (yarmulke) in the House of Representatives. My heart burst with pride on the stage when he said it. Rep. Fine told the audience he started wearing it because his son had a friend who didn’t feel safe to go outside with the head covering on.

In solidarity, Congressman Fine started wearing a kippah to work. That choice led him to step more deeply into Jewish life. Another moment I enjoyed was making US Secretary of Commerce laugh very hard when I made a crack about cashing out a check I received from an Israel Bond for 8 cents. I noted that had been my return after holding onto the bond for a lifetime. The room roared.

Some other notable individuals include Turkish Ambassador and Special Envoy to Syria Tom Barak, who told me he thought I was excellent. He flew in for the conference. Senator John Fetterman, Senator Rick Scott, Senator Jacky Rosen (only Senator to have previously been a Synagogue President), Israel’s Foreign Affairs Minister Gideon Sa’ar and Speaker of the Knesset Amir Ohana.

In the evening, I continued to work by moderating conversation at a private dinner reception where I got meaningful conversation flowing amongst an impressive guest list of decision makers and dignitaries. Next month I’ll be doing the same in Miami.

Day 1 of hosting the Jerusalem Post Washington Conference ✅ complete. I loved bringing so many dignitaries and impacters to the stage. It was a pleasure to welcome people like the incredible Pastor John Hager, US Secretary of Commerce Howard Lutnick, Knesset Speaker Amir Ohana, Yasmin Lukatz, Lital Leshem, Zoran Milosevic & Katherine Hennessy.

These are just a few of the high powered people we had with us tonight at the Israeli embassy. Tomorrow will be a home-run lineup as well.

One of our earliest video guests for the podcast (we had been audio only) was psycho-therapist Erica Komisar. And this week we saw that she was invited to speak at Kourtney Kardashian’s home — giving her talk about the needs of children and how to make them secure adults.

Podcast host and Israel Daily News CEO brought met her in Jerusalem in March to discuss trauma, parenting, and how wartime stress impacts Israeli families. She recommended our Israeli families actually jump into bed together and snuggle as much as possible!
Simple, but necessary support this country needs.

Seeing that discussion spark interest all the way in Hollywood?
Pretty amazing and exciting. ✨

Dror Or — the third-to-last hostage body returned to Israel from Gaza — was finally laid to rest on Sunday, November 30, 2025, bringing a painful chapter to a close for his tight-knit community in Kibbutz Be’eri. Palestinian Islamic Jihad terrorists murdered Dror’s wife Yonat on October 7th, killed Dror and took his body and also kidnapped two of their kids alive. Dror’s body was returned on November 28, 2025, exactly two years – to the day — after his children were released alive from captivity in Gaza. His children delivered raw, emotional testimonies at the funeral, crying into the microphone as they said goodbye at last. Dror Or was a skilled and internationally-trained cheese-maker. His cousin told the Israel Daily News they will begin to eat cheese again after a two-year pause in solidarity.
Listen to the voices of those who showed up for the family, including the father of Ran Gvili who is waiting for his son, the last Israeli hostage body left in Gaza. Sudthisak Rinthalak, a Thai national who was killed on October 7th and taken into Gaza is also still there.

I just published my newest feature for The Jerusalem Report, and this one was interesting to do the research for.

Interviewing people is one of my favorite parts of being a journalist — I’ve always been drawn to passion. At one point I even called myself a “passion reporter” when I first got started because nothing inspires me more than people who live to express their passions. For me, there’s nothing to live for if not for living your passion. That’s how big it is for me.

These young Jewish creators are doing exactly that. They’re choosing to be visibly Jewish online in their respective fields — something that is much harder than it looks. They’re journalists, comedians, sports broadcasters and public intellectuals who are all battling hate, carving out safe spaces, and insisting on joy, humor, and truth in a world that often pushes back hard on Jews. I loved getting to tell their stories.

If you want to understand what these creators are up against — and what keeps them going — read my article that is now out in the subscription magazine – the Jerusalem Report.

“Jewish creators are fighting antisemitism with humor and truth.”

At the time of this writing, 5 hostage bodies remain in Gaza. We at the Israel Daily News found it important to attend the support rally at Hostage Square for the remaining families who await their loved ones to come home — in body bags. The IDF say they have intel to suggest Hamas knows exactly where they are. Hamas, has both said they don’t know where the bodies are due to the rubble in Gaza and have also been caught on video burying bodies only to then dig them up in front of the Red Cross cameras.

Locals we spoke with say they’ve come out every Saturday night and spent countless of them without hope and in despair.

Rom Braslavski came on stage for an impromptu talk. He said he had seen scenes like this one on TV during his captivity in Gaza. He had envisioned and hoped to make it to a rally alive. He did it.

Have you RSVP’d for my NY talk on Wednesday night?
E-mail [email protected]

I’ll speak on Iran and its terror proxies’ influence on the Middle East and how I was a recipient of its terror when an Iranian ballistic missile came down on my Tel Aviv apartment (while I was in it) after I had had visions and premonitions about this for years.

When Israel woke up every one of its resident with a siren and alert noting the IDF had struck Iran, we all knew that this was the moment we had been anticipating for decades. In what country is everyone so keenly aware of their enemies that essentially no explanation was needed? “We did the thing” was what every Israeli understood at the same time on that Friday at 4 am. when the home front command woke us up with the news bulletin. The country wanted us to be on alert.

Join me for a compelling talk about my work as a journalist and what’s next for the region following a delicate ceasefire.
