I’m sitting at my hotel window with a direct view of the Empire State Building. My how things have come full circle. Tonight I hosted the Jerusalem Post New York Gala at the Eden Art Gallery in midtown. I opened and closed the night and had the honor of welcoming impressive change-makers to the stage. Not only was the art in our venue (Eden Art Gallery) colorful and impressive, but the content of the programming was truly inspiring.

I found myself wiping a tear as Maayan Dee came off the stage after sharing her story of surviving the Nova Festival. Most importantly, she’s been keeping the name of her friend Sivan alive. Sivan was killed at the event. I was choked up.

The next speaker, Chagit Leviev-Sofiev talked about how important it is to give Jewish children an education. One that really gives the a Jewish identity. I was inspired.

Tomorrow we have a full day of programming, which I’ll be presenting to the hundreds of people passing through our New York Conference.

I’m right back where I started my career — in Manhattan. And I feel confident that my reporting and coverage is so much more meaningful than it ever could have been if I had never left.

Did you know that the Devil Wears Prada 2 film premiered in Israel three days before it will come to American theaters?

The Israel Daily News was there covering the celebs and the people who came out (in proper DWP attire) Tuesday night.

Just the day before I had noted to Influencer Marketer & Talent Agent Zippy Jason that I was surprised I hadn’t see any marketing or press invitation to the Devil Wears Prada 2 premiere. The next day she got the details of where & when and we painted the town red.

We got a great interview with Israel’s top Disney Executive who says after months of distress over war and uncertainty, she’s excited to be finally seeing the movie with Israel’s who’s who. Without rockets flying overhead.

Keep an eye on our social media for a video report.

Scenes from my time covering Israel’s Memorial Day in Jerusalem on Mount Herzl. Thank you my friend for grabbing the BTS shots. 🥹🙏

Here’s an excerpt from the “Letter from the Editor” that went out in today’s newsletter. Send me your e-mail address to get on the Sunday mailing:

Israel’s President and Prime Minister spoke at the event. I swiped my press pass at the security tent and entered with my photographer. I particularly have this image in mind today after the scary events which unfolded at the White House Correspondent’s dinner event, in which there was another assasination attempt on President Trump. Journalist colleagues of mine noted they did not have to clear security to get in. In Jerusalem, in order to be under the same tent as Netanyahu, I was questioned, my belongings were scanned and I had to step into a machine to do a full body scan. That probably should have happened in DC.

Mount Herzl is Israel’s primary national cemetery and military cemetery in West Jerusalem. It hosts the graves of Zionist leaders, Israeli presidents, and prime ministers. I stopped by the tombstones of Menachem Begin and Shimon Peres. I was proud to be there, glad to take in the crisp air as the sun passed between the pine trees, and felt grateful to be able to record the stories of people I interviewed.

Israel has its own Holocaust Remembrance Day — separate from the international one in January. I had the honor of interviewing Holocaust survivor Dr. Alexander Nezer on behalf of the City of Tel Aviv — one of the only English-language programs happening in the city right now.

His story is real… but not what people expected. He didn’t suffer through the camps. He didn’t hide out in the woods. He walked past the ghettos holding the hand of a strange woman who came to take him on a “2-Day trip” away from his parents. Those two days lasted a lifetime. Alexander entered an apartment in Warsaw surviving by blending in, learning Christian prayers that weren’t his, and living a life that wasn’t quite his either. For five years he was hidden by a non-Jewish city mayor who had a close relationship with his

He spoke matter-of-factly about it all — even saying he didn’t fully understand he was a “survivor” until much later in life, after reading about it.

What struck me most was not just his story, but his perspective. He kept coming back to one idea: that we are human before anything else — before religion, before ethnicity. Things turned political, and Nezer’s nonchalant take on October 7th or the burning of the Netanyahu effigy in Spain shocked the crowd.

But here’s the thing — his truth is his truth. He handed out pages of his personal writings at the end of the night, and every single one was taken. People stayed. People listened. Even when it was uncomfortable and even though many audience members probably felt that today’s climate for Jews is heavier than Dr. Nezer might be giving credit.

He came to Israel as a child by boat through France, rebuilt a life, and today still chooses to speak — in his own way, in his own voice. Not polished. Not always aligned. But undeniably real.

Happy Passover. This morning was rough in Tel Aviv. Buildings came down. Sirens rang out. I heard loud booms outside my window. And yet. The Jews are going to continue doing what we do always — sit down and read our story as a group, as a family. During times of stress and turmoil, it becomes apparent why we have these traditions.

This Passover I’ll read “The Healing Haggadah” by Rabbi Friedman about how the Passover seder is actually a living transformation and healing of collective trauma.

Interviewing Israel’s First Lady Michal Herzog was a huge honor for me. She talked about creating her own role and space as the First Lady, especially because there was no First Lady before her because President Rivkin’s wife had passed away. Listening to her discuss how often she picks up for the phone and tries to get things moving and shaking for other women business owners was encouraging and just the right energy. It’s my prayer that every woman does this for the next.

The Jerusalem Post Women’s Summit was extraordinary. For all the reasons you may think. We conducted it despite we are in a strong war with Iran. We were allowed only fifty guests due to the Home Front command guidelines. We all entered the shelter when Iran sent missiles toward us while the conference was underway. I was thinking that the shelter rooms are Israel’s “great equalizer” the way that the NYC subway is considered the great equalizer for New Yorkers. Everyone needs it and uses it.

I particularly enjoyed the finalists for the best female scientific inventions. Very impressive.

Reporting from the scene of Dimona where an Iranian ballistic missile injured some 70+ people. Those who were sheltering managed to come out alive.

The strike happened Saturday evening, March 21, 2026 and were likely targeting areas near a nuclear facility.

Thanks to for this drone shot.

Life has been chaotic, disruptive. Scared. Ecstatic at moments. I’m not sure why. Deeply empty at moments. Not sure why. I’ve been both deeply engaged in my work and also deeply engaged in nothing. And all I can do is eat and work out. And the the next day I’m back on the horse. 🤷‍♀️

I’ve spoken to a number of friends and many of us agree that this war has us on a roller coaster. 🎢

Are you feeling that way?

Tips: Get sun. Get exercise. Eat.
