 The Silo
2026
A different perspective. Isn’t it amazing what 24 hours can do? Apply that to life.
I am bringing back the silo after a four year hiatus. Some of you will remember it. Some of you are new and will get to experience this daily encouragement for the first time.
A new year has begun and it is a good reminder to always take the small moments to reflect and observe the simple wonders that surround you.
Sometimes the changes are glaringly obvious like after a rain shower or with softly falling snowflakes. Other times the beauty is in the subtleties of the different hues of the leaves or how the sun finds its way through them.
The point of posting the silo is encouragement and quiet observation. A reassurance and reminder that one day can make changes not only in your surroundings but also your life. I will also post something thoughtful at the end.
Look at the picture and compare from day to day. The photograph will be taken from the same spot each day. Feel free to comment on what subtleties or changes you see daily in the comment section.
Isaiah 55:10-13
New International Version
“10 As the rain and the snow
come down from heaven,
and do not return to it
without watering the earth
and making it bud and flourish,
so that it yields seed for the sower and bread for the eater,
11 so is my word that goes out from my mouth:
It will not return to me empty,
but will accomplish what I desire
and achieve the purpose for which I sent it.
12 You will go out in joy
and be led forth in peace;
the mountains and hills
will burst into song before you,
and all the trees of the field
will clap their hands.
13 Instead of the thornbush will grow the juniper,
and instead of briers the myrtle will grow.
This will be for the Lord’s renown,
for an everlasting sign,
that will endure forever.”
