Okay, maybe we are judging. We've seen a lot of good tree forts in our day. In fact, just the other day we saw one that looked like it was built by professionals. That's not exactly the kid built kind, but it was still pretty cool.

I'm guessing it cost at least $15,000. We used to build ours with wood thrown away by construction teams.

Today, on the other hand, our publisher, snagged the photo of this one with just two pieces of barely attached wood.

You might think this is for hunting, but this was in a public park, not an area where deer would be allowed. Good hunters respect this sort of thing.

We don't know what was going on here. Did they run out of wood? Were they eating by a bear? Maybe that's all that's left of a great tree for it in years gone by?

If you've read our books, you know that freedom matters to us. How do we thank those who gave their lives to protect our country and its freedoms? We can only do this by living freely, reading boldly, and remembering those whose lives were lost protecting those freedoms.

To all the soldiers still with us, fighting the good fight, or retired from years of good service. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
