❤️ From My Heart… To Hers
A Father’s Wedding Diary
Chapter 7 — Mehndi: Love Took the Stage
“Some celebrations are planned. The most beautiful ones are created by the people who love you.”
Some weddings begin with the Mehndi.
Ours didn’t.
We chose to have Aleena and Ali’s Nikah first so they could celebrate the Mehndi together as husband and wife. Looking back today, I know it was one of the best decisions we made.
Only a few hours earlier, our home had been filled with quiet prayers, heartfelt duas and promises made before Allah.
Now…
It was time to celebrate.
As Aleena and Ali walked into the Mehndi together for the very first time as husband and wife, I couldn’t describe everything I was feeling.
I was happy.
I was excited.
I was amazed.
And somewhere deep inside…
I was still a father quietly realizing that my little girl had begun one of the most beautiful chapters of her life.
The atmosphere had completely changed.
The house that had been so peaceful during the Nikah was now filled with music, laughter and joy.
Children were running around.
Families were catching up.
Friends were hugging each other.
For the first time that day, I looked at Aleena and Ali—not as a bride and groom waiting for their Nikah—but as husband and wife enjoying their very first celebration together.
One performance followed another.
The evening began with four beautiful little girls—Sanaya, Mina, Rania and Safa.
Watching them dance brought smiles to every face in the room.
Sanaya, the daughter of our dear friends Moeen and Sonia, has shared a special bond with Aleena since she was little. Aleena lovingly calls her “Sanainai,” and Sanaya has always called Aleena “Ananiyai.” Watching that beautiful bond continue on stage was a reminder that love grows from one generation to the next.
As the evening continued, family and friends kept taking the stage.
The children made us smile.
The mothers reminded us what lifelong friendship looks like.
Our families danced as though they were celebrating their own daughter.
One of the most touching moments of the evening was the special Mothers’ Performance by Uzma’s dear friends. It wasn’t just a performance—it was years of friendship, love and shared memories coming together to celebrate another mother’s happiness.
There were beautiful performances by Hiba, Soha and Neha, the daughters of our dear friends Beenish and Imran, who were also the creative team behind Events InStyle by Beenish. Their breathtaking décor transformed both our Nikah and Mehndi into something truly magical.
Amani, Nafeesa and Sabreen, daughters of Uzma’s dear friend Zareen, brought grace and elegance to the stage.
Ali, Uzma’s nephew, along with Fawaz, Minha and Alishba, brought so much energy that the entire room was cheering and smiling.
In all, there were around thirteen family performances.
Every one of them was different.
Every one of them came from the heart.
Every dance.
Every song.
Every smile.
Every round of applause carried the same message…
“Aleena… we love you.”
One of my wishes for Aleena’s Mehndi was to have live music.
When Faraz Nayyer accepted my invitation, he gave us much more than an incredible performance.
He brought warmth.
He brought humility.
He brought joy.
He didn’t perform for our guests.
He celebrated with them.
His beautiful voice became part of our family’s memories, and whenever we think back to this evening, his songs will always be part of the story.
Faraz, thank you. May Allah continue to bless your beautiful voice, your humble nature and your generous heart.
Behind every beautiful celebration is a team of incredible people who quietly work to make every moment special.
A heartfelt thank you to our dear friends Beenish and Imran of Events InStyle By Beenish, Inc. for creating the breathtaking décor and unforgettable setups.
Thank you to Hakim's Studio, Akbar Hakim, for capturing memories our family will cherish forever.
Thank you to Event by Mayesha for coordinating the day with such care.
Thank you to Bridal Makeup Artist for making Aleena look absolutely radiant.
Thank you to Imran Haider and everyone at Premier Event Halls for your kindness and support.
Thank you to Inspirations Unlimited for creating a beautiful wedding cake that became another sweet memory of the evening.
Each of you will have your own special chapter because your contribution deserves more than just a few lines.
For years, through DJ Imran Entertainment, I have had the privilege of creating unforgettable weddings for hundreds of families.
But that evening…
I wasn’t standing there as DJ Imran.
I was simply a father.
Watching his daughter smile.
Watching two families become one.
Watching love take the stage.
As the evening came to an end, I stood quietly for a moment.
The music would eventually fade.
The lights would be turned off.
The decorations would come down.
But the love we felt that night…
The friendships we celebrated…
The family that surrounded us…
Those memories will remain with us forever.
Some memories are made in silence.
Others are made through music, laughter and the people Allah places in our lives.
This was one of those nights.
A night when love truly took the stage.
❤️
Until the next page…
With love,
Dad
