The Sweetwater Police Department is proud to announce the appointment of Assistant Chief Cory Valencia, effective December 11, 2025.

Assistant Chief Valencia has served Sweetwater since 2014, rising from Patrol Officer to Patrol Sergeant and later Field Training Program Coordinator. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice and a Master Peace Officer Certification.

Chief Cory Stroman shared his confidence in this appointment:
“Assistant Chief Valencia has consistently demonstrated integrity, professionalism, and a deep commitment to serving this community. He is a strong leader who leads by example, and I am confident he will help guide our department forward.”
