🏁 SMOKY MOUNTAIN SPEEDWAY RECAP 🏁
Last night didn't end with the result we wanted, but there are definitely some positives we're taking away from it.
We qualified 13th in Group A, which lined us up 7th in the first heat race. We were able to move forward and finish 6th, leaving us just one spot short of transferring into the feature.
That put us on the pole for the B-Main and gave us another shot at racing our way into the show. Unfortunately, on the first lap I jumped the cushion and gave up the transfer spot. That's one I'd definitely like to have back.
Not making the show is frustrating, especially when we were that close, but there's a lot more to take away from last night than just the final result.
The biggest positive is that the car is driving a lot better. We've found a few things that have been going on with it, and we're trying some new things to get this C7 where we need it to be. Last night felt like another step in the right direction.
It was also my first time on Smoky Mountain with the track like that, and it was absolutely hammered down and FAST. It was a new experience for me, and honestly, I really enjoyed how fast the place was. There's definitely a learning curve when you're running those kinds of speeds, and every lap we get in situations like that makes us better.
I'm disappointed we didn't get to make the feature, but that's racing. We'll learn from the mistakes, take the positives from the night, keep working on the car, and move on to the next one.
We're still learning. We're still improving. And we're going to keep digging. 🏁
As always, THANK YOU to our family, friends, fans, followers, and all of the supporters Lewis Brothers Racing and help us do what we love.
We'll get back after it.
