This is one of the hardest posts I’ve had to make and one I was hoping to avoid. We’ve had a good run and we’ve put a lot of work into our little store, but we are officially closing Corner Post.

For the past almost two years, we have been blessed to serve Symsonia and the surrounding areas. We have poured our hearts into our food, rejuvenated the little building that was in need of some love, and made it a family endeavor to make our business work. At the end of the day, there are far too many factors stacked against us for it to remain logical to continue. From issues with product availability, soaring food costs, COVID hurdles in the very beginning, and the hardship finding people who want to work…we’ve seen our share of complications. Add in a pregnancy, a broken leg, orthopedic surgery, c-section recovery, and raising kids all in that timeframe and it has certainly been a whirlwind. In the words of Kenny Rogers, you have to “know when to fold ‘em” and unfortunately we are there.

I’m so very grateful for the time that we’ve spent in Symsonia. We have met a lot of fine folks and I have no doubt that I’ve developed some friendships that will stay with me. For those of you who supported us along the way, thank you from the bottom of my heart. For those of you who stopped in just to chat or visit with our kids, I appreciate each of those conversations. Our kids thoroughly enjoyed every day they were there and every single person who took the time to entertain their outgoing personalities!

We will pray for all of you and this community. Thank you again for welcoming us and we pray that the next people in this building love this town and you all as much as we do! ❤️💔

CLOSED THIS WEEK

I meant to post earlier and let everyone know that we would be closed this week, but it has honestly been chaos since Friday evening. We are completely healthy and were not personally impacted by the storms, although we had friends and family who were. We did, however, make the decisions to close for the week in order to assist how, when and where we can. One slight change and it could’ve been any one of us in the position that so many others are finding themselves in at this moment 💔.

We will be delivering more donations this week if anyone still wants to donate and thank you to those of you who already have! Please send us a Facebook message if you would like to schedule a time to drop off items or make a monetary contribution.

Our prayers are with you all. Also, if anyone was personally affected by the tornado and in need of any particular items, please feel free to reach out and we will do our best to help or coordinate help! ❤️🙏🏻

We are praying for so many of our customers and friends who have been impacted by these storms in and around our area. 🙏🏻❤️

We plan on making a large donation Monday morning to the Mayfield area. If anyone would like to donate anything, please send us a Facebook message to coordinate a time for drop off tomorrow. We also plan to get with first responders and find a time to drop off lunch for as many as we can. If anyone would like to make a monetary donation, it will go toward this or buying additional items to donate.

We apologize for the shifting hours, but we are working around the staff that we have available. We are still hiring, so if you know someone interested, send them our way.

Having said that - if you plan to apply for a job and never show up for the interview OR (even worse) accept a job and never show up to your first shift, please DO NOT bother. I’m appalled by the number of people who feel like this is acceptable.

Due to staffing shortages, we have been forced to adjust hours again. We are sorry for the inconvenience and upset about the inability to keep constant hours. This week we will be open Tuesday - Saturday 4p-8p. At this time, we do not have enough help to be open for lunch. We will re-evaluate for next week.

We will be closed the remainder of this week for the holidays and to re-evaluate our hours and staffing situation going forward. We will post next week when we will be re-opening and what the new hours will be. We hate that we have to adjust but have been left with little option, as finding help the last year and a half has proven to be one of the most difficult challenges we’ve faced.

Having said that, we are still looking to hire so if you know anyone interested, please let us know.

Just a reminder - we are still needing one or two employees for our Symsonia store. If you or someone you know may be interested, please send us a message. We prefer someone with day shift availability (10:30a-2:30p approximately). If we do not find staff shortly, we may be forced to adjust our hours accordingly, although we are trying to avoid that.

We are still needing to add one person to our staff. We are in need of someone available to work weekday lunch shift. The hours are typically just 10:30am - 2:30pm. If we do not find a person for this shift shortly, our hours may have to be adjusted again and we are trying to avoid that. As most every business currently is, we are still struggling between food cost and lack of help. If you know anyone, please send them our way and feel free to share this post!

Hey guys! Since it’s the season to be thankful, we just want to say how thankful we are to Symsonia and the neighboring communities for your loyal business for almost a year and a half now! We’re so thankful to be a part of such a great small town and don’t plan on going anywhere! ❤️

We are tremendously blessed and would love to help some others be blessed this season. Having said that, we will be having a 🥫FOOD DRIVE🍞from now until November 23rd to benefit those in our community who are in need.
