We have been dry for awhile. As of 7pm.. look at radar. a few leftover showers and storms will past by 10pm.. If you have been outside.. You can feel the steamy air. A threat of showers and storms will continue through 8pm and then threat will decrease. Much drier weather by 10pm. The warm front yield to a heat advisory For Monday to Wednesday. The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation has issued an air quality health advisory for today, July 26, 2025, for Long Island, the New York metropolitan area, as well as the Hudson Valley and Adirondack regions. The pollutant of concern is fine particulate matter, or PM2.5.

Do you smell smoke? Do you see the hazy skies.. Smoke from Canadian fires. Poor Air Quality today.

DO YOU SMELL SMOKE? It’s from Canadian Wildfires. We have an air quality alert in effect today for New York.

Today is code “Orange”. It will be hazy and fine particulates from a near record Canadian Wildfire Season will make the air unhealthy for sensitive people.

Powerful storms hit Long Island Friday afternoon July 25th. Flooding to Strong Damaging winds.

In Commack, a large tree was snapped in half by fierce winds and came crashing down on two parked cars outside the home of Michael Lamparillo and his wife, Camille.
