You guys.
At a neighborhood picnic this weekend, an older lady who used to live in my house (we know each other in passing, but I don't "know her") approached me, saying she "hoped I would be here today".
She gave me this framed sketch of my house that she's had for ages. She's not sure how old it was, but they moved out in the 70s, so it's at least 50 yrs old.
Her cousin, (who used to be an art teacher) drew it.
(My house is at least 150 yrs old, and it has been through a lot of hands, so we're always trying to find out more about it)

This cute cabbage patch doll with the rainbow hair caught my eye…and brought back some memories from the ‘80s. Those of us who are old enough remember the frenzy when these dolls were THE THING. News reports told of the lengths that parents would go in the competition to bring home these coveted dolls for Christmas presents. Luckily for me, I never had to buy one as my daughter didn’t like dolls, so I managed to make it this far in life without a battery charge or a criminal record. That being said, I wasn’t about to start now by trying to wrestle it away from the lady who had this in her cart today. We had a much friendlier exchange than those shoppers of 4 decades ago. She smiled and said, “Of course!” when I asked to get a picture of this cutie patootie.
