Syracuse’s Inner Harbor has come a long way — from a 1918 canal terminal once nicknamed “Oil City” to one of the city’s fastest-changing waterfronts, with a brand-new aquarium opening this fall.
A lot of the action lives under one roof at the Iron Pier building: a brewery with 24 taps and a full kitchen, a cocktail bar, a coffee-and-breakfast spot, an infrared yoga and pilates studio, and a salon. Just beyond it, a 1950s diner institution, stone-fired pizza, and a creekwalk that runs all the way to Armory Square.
We pulled together some Inner Harbor spots worth checking out, from breweries and cocktail bars, to coffee and waterfront trails, and other local favorites.
