Throwback to Chantala Davis’ book launch for Embrace Change: Redefining What’s Possible Through Transformation ✨

Some books are written to be read. This one was created to be worked through.

This powerful workbook was created to support women through seasons of stress, transition, and deep personal change, especially mothers who are ready to heal, reflect, and redefine what is possible for their lives.

Embrace Change gives women a safe, non-judgmental space to confront the “stinkin’-thinkin’,” suppressed histories, and limiting patterns that may have kept them tied to the past.

Through pre- and post-tests, reflective journaling, real-world scenarios, and practical exercises, Chantala guides women through identifying their triggers, setting healthy boundaries, strengthening emotional awareness, and reclaiming their power of choice.

Looking back on this launch is a reminder of the kind of impact a workbook can have when it meets women right where they are and gives them tools to move forward.

Congratulations again to Chantala Davis on bringing Embrace Change into the world.🎊

What does it really take to keep promoting your book after publication?
Beestie Besties with J and Lo Episode 8 is OUT!

This episode features two author friends who are showing up, learning as they go, and doing the work of building real momentum around their books: Roxanne Bocyck, author of Catherine’s Dream, and Kaitlyn Marquart, author of IDK What to Say, Amber Luna, My Bright Light, and Mari’s Light, Burning Bright.

Roxanne shares the family secret and Polish immigration history that inspired Catherine’s Dream, how research helped her shape the story, and what she learned through the publishing process. She also talks about author events, book tables, giveaways, and making your setup more inviting when promoting in person.

Kaitlyn shares how a simple idea became IDK What to Say, what collaboration with Wildebeest Publishing Co. helped her discover about her writing process, and how she later taught herself to self-publish. She also talks about Amber Luna, My Bright Light, Mari’s Light, Burning Bright, friendship, mental health, healing, and why asking for help is part of doing hard things.

J and Lo also share updates on the August 22 Authorpreneur Workshop at CNY Arts Center, the CNY Arts Center book club, the Brooklyn Book Festival, author mindset, social media, accountability buddies, and the value of carving out consistent creative time before the day gets away from you.

Your reader finished your book and loved it… now what?

💡Tip 38: Include an “Also by this Author” page if you have already published.

If you have more than one book, don’t make readers search for what to read next. An “Also by this Author” page is a simple way to guide them toward your other work while they’re already interested and engaged.

This page can include your previous books, series order, related titles, or even a note pointing them to your website for more.

It’s a small addition, but it helps turn one-time readers into returning readers.

Good book design isn’t only about how your pages look, it’s also about creating a smooth experience that keeps your audience connected to your work.

Okay… my book is out. Now what?

That’s exactly why the first annual Authorpreneur Workshop and Book Fair was created.

Join us on August 22, 2026 at the CNY Arts Center in Fulton, NY for a hands-on experience designed to help authors grow beyond the book and start building visibility, confidence, and real momentum around their work.

This workshop is for writers preparing to publish, self-published authors, Beesties and Besties from our herd, and authors who are looking for more support now that their book is out in the world.

You’ll learn how to market and sell your books with confidence, build your platform, grow your audience, create offers and income beyond the book, pitch like a pro, and set up systems that make your author life easier.

Alongside the workshop, there will also be a book fair-style vendor setup where authors and creatives can showcase their work, connect with readers, and bring their books, products, and brands directly to the community.

Registration is now open, and early bird pricing ends July 1, 2026. Spaces are limited, so save your spot early.
WPC Authorpreneur Community Members also receive 20% off registration.

'Ya Herd' how to find a publisher?

Most people don’t realize they chose the wrong publisher until after they’ve already signed.

In the “Ya Herd” segment of Episode 7, J and Lo get into the reality of what authors should be doing before they make that decision.

First, talk to multiple publishers. Not just one. Even if you feel good about one, you need to understand your options, traditional, hybrid, self-publishing, even AI publishing. There’s no one right path, but you need to know what each one actually looks like.

They also break down something a lot of people miss, clarity.
You should fully understand the process, what you’re paying for, and how everything works before you sign anything. If you can’t find that information upfront, that’s a red flag.

From hidden costs to unclear communication, they call out the common issues authors run into, especially when they’re left to “figure it out themselves” after hiring someone to help.

They also touch on transparency around sales, what publishers can and can’t show you, but emphasize that you should still be getting clear answers, not silence.

And one of the biggest points, what happens after publishing. Because a lot of publishers move on to the next author, leaving you without the support you expected.

At the end of the day, it comes down to three non-negotiables: communication, transparency, and support.
If those aren’t there from the beginning, that’s your sign.

Whether you are a seasoned author or just starting to sharpen your horns, this episode is packed with everything you need to succeed.
