What a great turnout Syracuse!! Light snow and cold temperatures didn’t stop people from coming out and enjoying the evening. Thankfully the wind stayed away! Vehicles lined up along Main Street for the annual Parade of Lights!
There were 17 entries!!
Dream First Bank served delicious, warm chili and Wheatland Electric served hot cocoa and cookies.
Mr. Rick Mathias led the crowd in a short Christmas carol.

The prize winners are -
Mayor’s choice - Syracuse JH cheerleaders
First place - Syracuse Food Center
Second place - Porky’s Parlor
Third place - Skyland Grain and Love’s Country Store
Non-float winner - American Implement.

One of the best things about Christmas in Syracuse is the sense of community.
After you visit Santa at the library and watch the annual Parade of Lights, join us at the park on Main Street and Avenue B.
Before we announce the winners and light the tree, we would like to invite everyone to join us as Rick Mathias leads us in singing “We Wish You A Merry Christmas.

The coldest air so far this season will pour into southwest Kansas Saturday and Saturday night. Temperatures will gradually fall all day Saturday and Saturday night, ending up in the 10-15 degree range for most locations 6 am Sunday. Thankfully winds will diminish rapidly after sunset.
