Syracuse Bulldogs are STATE BOUND!!

The Bulldogs are Regional Runners-Up and will next compete Monday and Tuesday in Salina at the 3A-1A State Championship!

Gael Luna Gutierrez (40) of Houston, TX was arrested in Texas on an outstanding felony warrant. On September 29, 2025 he was extradited to Hamilton County, Kansas for his involvement with the fraudulent payroll check cashing scheme in multiple states in 2023.
Gutierrez is charged with the following:

-Forgery
-Aiding and Abetting

Gutierrez is currently being held at the Hamilton County Jail on a $10,000 bond.

Individual is innocent until proven otherwise in a court of law.

On September 26, 2025 the Hamilton County Sheriff's Office arrested Jahzavya White (31) of Lithonia, GA. On November 3, 2023, White made purchases at a local convenience store and liquor store using a stolen credit card. White was previously arrested in Lyons County, KS and was transferred into the custody of the Hamilton County Sheriff's Office after his case was completed.

-Criminal Use of a Financial Card

White is currently being held on a $5,000 bond at the Hamilton County Jail.

Individual is innocent until proven otherwise in a court of law.

On Sunday, September 28, 2025 the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office arrested Michael Nairn (41) of Syracuse, KS in an ongoing investigation focused on drug distribution. The operation was conducted in a joint effort with the Kansas Bureau of Investigation and Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office.

Nairn is charged with the following:

⁃Distribution of a controlled substance within 1000’ of a school (2 counts)

⁃Unlawful distribution of a controlled substance using a communication facility (2 Counts)

Nairn is currently being held at the Hamilton County Jail on a $50,000 bond.

Individual is innocent until proven otherwise in a court of law.
