ing and engineering. You would be hard pressed to find this level of attention and skill for as low of a cost anywhere else. StudioDog's Mission

1) CREATE Award Winning Recording and Audio in a friendly, comfortable, and creative atmosphere. In short, to operate the great american recording studio.

2) IMPACT and GROW the communities in which we operate in. We seek to empower the regional music community by increasing access to our shared knowledge base and the quality services we provide through instruction and masterclass educational opportunities. We are additionally involved in further developing opportunities to enhance the untapped local market of original music from local bands and recording artists,

Our studio is purposefully located in Syracuse's Near West Side. Although StudioDog is a relatively new business, our ties to this community extend back over a decade. The Near West Side is the place that our dreams and bands where founded, where we learned to create and pursue excellence in audio and music recording. Each of our respective paths have led back here, a place we feel proud to represent and work to give back to, thus improving the future outlook and opportunities for our neighbors. Staff

Neighborhood Programming

Since its inception, StudioDOG Pro has placed part of its focus on creating learning and enrichment for Syracuse area youth, especially the youth of the Near West Side. Until now, we have only offered small scale workshops and presentations. However, with the expansion into our new facility, our capacity in this area has changed dramatically. Recently, we have been in discussions with valued allies Signature Music and the Near West Side Initiative to expand our programming in this area. We are prospectively launching some great programming within the next few months that we hope will quickly expand. Our programming employs a "hands on" approach to enlighten the youth to their potential, while improving their outlook and desire to seek careers in media production and related fields (which require solid STEM based education.) For those interested in getting involved in supporting our work in this area, please feel free to contact us. We are always looking for new allies. Since hearing the announcement of Near West Side Initiative and its mission, Isaac felt the neighborhood was a fertile place to grow his business. When the perfect property became available in 2009, he jumped at the opportunity to invest in his dream. Once the property was acquired, Isaac carefully began the thoughtful work of designing and building the studio himself, tapping friends, family members and local handymen for an extra hand at times. The process was time consuming and labor intensive, but the end result has been quite rewarding. The studio was designed to optimize the use of space and acoustic function, a spacious control room commands 2 recording booths and a larger live room. The recording facility is equipped to cover a full range of recording needs, from a solo vocalist to large drum kits and multi piece bands. Having been designed and built without parallel walls, each room is acoustically treated with specialty sound
absorbers that also enhance the décor of the space. StudioDOG’s equipment and mic closet incorporate an effective collection of recording gear to get quality recordings for any genre of music or audio production. The mission of the company is to provide budget conscious clients with high quality recording, mixing and mastering as well as composing services. Isaac has worked hard to keep the business overhead low to remain accessible to creative clients who may struggle to support their work financially, but could greatly benefit from StudioDOG’s professional production services. Bio: Isaac Rothwell, Producer & Engineer

Very proud of Dunham Hall and Cecil Nelson as this years KJ James Memorial Scholarship Winners!
Both are StudioDOG Pro alums and part of the greater recording family we're enjoying!

Give these guys a high five if you see them!

We had phenomenal submissions this year for the KJ James Memorial Scholarship from music students from the following areas: Marcellus, Lafayette, Solvay, Homer, Buffalo, Syracuse, and Tully.

The winners of the 2015 KJ James Memorial Scholarship are:

1st place ($600): Dunham Hall - Graduate of Solvay High School, will be attending Ithaca College in the Fall majoring in Jazz Studies on saxophone.
2nd place ($300): Cecil Nelson - Senior at Marcellus High School, guitar, bass, piano, and percussion
3rd place ($100): Dustin Stout - Senior at Lafayette High School, guitar

Our first place winner, Dunham Hall (who already regularly performs with The Ripcords), will be performing on the main stage with Carolyn Kelly Blues Band with the Soul of Syracuse at 6pm on Saturday, July 11th during the festival. Congrats Dunham, Cecil and Dustin!!!
