Dad came and helped with baseboard install. Is this acceptable?

I knew baseboards were going to be tricky due to my uneven floors and walls but my dad decided to take the initiative to install them all while I was at work.

He is visiting from out of town and really wanted to help the renovation move along. This corner is one of the better corners but I was a little peeved he didn't take more time to get the angles right.

Would this be acceptable to fill and sand smooth? There are definitely some that are completely butchered but I'm just trying to find out what we can get away with leaving as is.

First picture is one of the better corners, second picture is how most the rest look.

How much should I charge for this?

So I’ve been building this and a few people told me they want this same thing…how much should I charge for just labor? They buy all the material but I have my own tools…it’s not completed yet but you see where I’m going with this…these are stone tiles on top of drywall with mortar…so framing, drywalling, and adding the stone…also, this is my first try but I consider myself a decent handyman, what do you think of it?

Can anyone explain this structure?
A partial view of a traditional wooden house in the Tuhini Valley of Slovenia, with an exquisite corner mortise and tenon joint.
This house is estimated to have been built in the 18th-19th century and constructed from local spruce wood.
What's most amazing is the "corner joint": each piece of wood is cut in a mirrored pair, assembling without the need for screws, with the protruding and recessed parts fitting together perfectly.
The alternating stacking of these Baroque-style double dovetail joints on both sides is clear, but the connection method is puzzling at first glance. Can you figure out how it was assembled?

Fine woodworking is all about solid, exquisite craftsmanship.
The look of your home starts to transform right at the carpentry stage.
Every stylized detail is a testament to the carpenter's masterful skill-the seamless joints, the clean and smooth lines. Piece by piece, the wood is cut and assembled by the craftsman's hands, building shapes that are exactly as we envisioned.

Recently fabricator did half the job on the Taj Mahal Quartzite, how is his seam work? How would you rate it?

I thought they would be alot more invisible. Is this how they are suppose to be?. Especially the double edge seam.

Is it why everyone says it’s better to buy an older house?
Home was built in 1960 and contractor cut out a piece of siding to make room for a new faucet. Wow it looks good still. I’m actually impressed.

Is it normal for kitchen cabinets to look like this in early stage?
My contractor just started on our kitchen cabinets, is it normal for the corner wood to look kind of beat up? Looks to me like the saw they used didn't cut properly, but maybe this kind of wood just does that.

Edit:

We agreed on 25K for 16 lower cabinets, 4 floor to ceiling cabinets and a 5ft x 10ft island with full depth cabinets on both sides. We've already paid 23K in good faith as he said he finished the cabinets. All we owe is 2K after they are painted. He's also making our 3 vanities for 8K, we've paid half for them. He's doing a full house remodel for us, we signed with a GC who assigned him to us.

These comments are pretty worrying, need to figure out next steps.

How to prevent flex or sag on this desk top?
Hey all,

I have a wood desk top (not MDF/plywood) with a laminate on top. I’m worried it might bend or warp over time.

In the picture, from bottom view, I show the measurements if it helps.
Any tips on reinforcing it or keeping it flat?
Do I need to use those wood reinforcements?
Can I use something in in C shape like the orange color?

Thanks!

How on earth would you patch/fix this
I've tried plastic wood filler. Can't use epoxy or bondo due to poor ventilation. I'm thinking that edge protector stuff you put on defined edges for furniture. Temporary fix needed until fiscal year ends

Insulation solution for this ceiling
We have this beautiful ceiling with zero insulation. There's the pine paneling, then plywood, then shingles underlayment, then our shingles (white, btw). That beautiful ceiling is the paneling on the underside of our roof. We live in the U.S. south, and the A/C runs nonstop upstairs without much effect.

My idea (diagram in second picture) is to create a 10" gap between the existing ceiling and new paneling, which can be nailed to the existing smaller beams and cleats added to the larger beams. This would leave the larger beams visible from below, but the smaller beams would be hidden.

Questions for the insulation experts: Would this work? If so, how much increase in R-value could I expect? And what kind of insulation should I use? Is 10" too much? Could I get good result with a smaller gap? I could add cleats to all the smaller beams and create, say, a 4" gap.

I'd greatly appreciate any advice.
