HERE’S REAL HOPE FOR THE FAMILY

To know and serve the Lord effectively it’s of paramount importance to understand His heart on a matter.

In a world where the family has become so disarrayed, disjointed and dysfunctional, it seemed a good exercise to get back to God’s Word to rediscover what God’s wonderful plan for the family actually is. For this is the only hope for the health and survival of the treasured institution we call “the family”.

[NOTE: Just today I discovered a translation I had never seen before, the NIRV. I liked it so much I used it for the vast majority of text references.]

#1 GOD INVENTED THE FAMILY, AND KNOWS HOW IT’S MEANT TO THRIVE!

“So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them. Then God blessed them, and God said to them, ‘Be fruitful and multiply; fill the earth and subdue it; have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over every living thing that moves on the earth.’ ” Gen. 1:27-28

#2 GOD SPARED A REMNANT FAMILY FROM THE JUDGMENT OF THE FLOOD!

“Then the LORD said to Noah, ‘Come into the ark, you and ALL YOUR HOUSEHOLD, because I have seen that you are righteous before Me in this generation.’ ” Gen. 7:1

#3 GOD PROVIDENTIALLY INTERVENED TO SPARE THE LIFE OF MOSES & HIS FAMILY!

“Then the king of Egypt spoke to the Hebrew midwives … and he said, ‘When you do the duties of a midwife for the Hebrew women, and see them on the birthstools, if it is a son, then you shall kill him; but if it is a daughter, then she shall live.” But the midwives feared God, and did not do as the king of Egypt commanded them, but saved the male children alive.” Exo. 1:15-17
Moses Is Born
“And a man of the house of Levi went and took as wife a daughter of Levi. So the woman conceived and bore a son. And when she saw that he was a beautiful child, she hid him three months. 3 But when she could no longer hide him, she took an ark of bulrushes for him, daubed it with asphalt and pitch, put the child in it, and laid it in the reeds by the river’s bank. And his sister stood afar off, to know what would be done to him.
Then the daughter of Pharaoh came down to bathe at the river. And her maidens walked along the riverside; and when she saw the ark among the reeds, she sent her maid to get it. And when she opened it, she saw the child, and behold, the baby wept. So she had compassion on him, and said, ‘This is one of the Hebrews’ children.’
Then his sister said to Pharaoh’s daughter, ‘Shall I go and call a nurse for you from the Hebrew women, that she may nurse the child for you?’ And Pharaoh’s daughter said to her, ‘Go.’ So the maiden went and called the child’s mother. Then Pharaoh’s daughter said to her, ‘Take this child away and nurse him for me, and I will give you your wages.’ So the woman took the child and nursed him. And the child grew, and she brought him to Pharaoh’s daughter, and he became her son. So she called his name Moses, saying, ‘Because I drew him out of the water.’ Exodus 2:1-10

#4 GOD ESTABLISHED LAWS THAT INSURED THAT A FAMILY’S NAME & POSTERITY WOULD BE PRESERVED & CARRIED ON!

“But if the man does not want to take his brother’s wife, then let his brother’s wife go up to the gate to the elders, and say, ‘My husband’s brother refuses to raise up a name to his brother in Israel; he will not perform the duty of my husband’s brother.’ Then the elders of his city shall call him and speak to him. But if he stands firm and says, ‘I do not want to take her,’ then his brother’s wife shall come to him in the presence of the elders, remove his sandal from his foot, spit in his face, and answer and say, ‘So shall it be done to the man who will not build up his brother’s house.’ And his name shall be called in Israel, ‘The house of him who had his sandal removed.’ Deut. 25:7-10

“Then Boaz said, ‘On the day you buy the field from the hand of Naomi, you must also buy it from Ruth the Moabitess, the wife of the dead, to perpetuate the name of the dead through his inheritance.’ ”
And the close relative said, ‘I cannot redeem it for myself, lest I ruin my own inheritance. You redeem my right of redemption for yourself, for I cannot redeem it.’
Now this was the custom in former times in Israel concerning redeeming and exchanging, to confirm anything: one man took off his sandal and gave it to the other, and this was a confirmation in Israel.
Therefore the close relative said to Boaz, ‘Buy it for yourself.’ So he took off his sandal. And Boaz said to the elders and all the people, ‘You are witnesses this day that … Ruth the Moabitess, the widow of Mahlon, I have acquired as my wife, to perpetuate the name of the dead through his inheritance, that the name of the dead may not be cut off from among his brethren and from his position at the gate. You are witnesses this day.” Ruth 4:5-10

#5 GOD DELIGHTS IN SAVING ENTIRE FAMILIES!

A. God Saved Rahab’s Entire Household!
“But Joshua had said to the two men who had spied out the country, ‘Go into the harlot’s house, and from there bring out the woman and all that she has, as you swore to her.’ And the young men who had been spies went in and brought out Rahab, her father, her mother, her brothers, and all that she had. So they brought out all her relatives and left them outside the camp of Israel. But they burned the city and all that was in it with fire… And Joshua spared Rahab the harlot, her father’s HOUSEHOLD, and all that she had. So she dwells in Israel to this day, because she hid the messengers whom Joshua sent to spy out Jericho.” Josh. 6:22-35

B. God Saved Cornelius’ Entire Household!

Peter preached Christ to Cornelius’ Household, which included all the household servants as well as Cornelius Extended Family.

“The word which God sent to the children of Israel, preaching peace through Jesus Christ—He is Lord of all… God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power, who went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil… whom they killed by hanging on a tree. Him God raised up on the third day, and showed Him openly … to testify that it is He who was ordained by God to be Judge of the living and the dead. To Him all the prophets witness that, through His name, whoever believes in Him will receive remission of sins’ … While Peter was still speaking these words, the Holy Spirit fell upon all those who heard the Word. Then Peter answered, ‘Can anyone forbid water, that these should not be baptized who have received the Holy Spirit just as we have?’ And he commanded them to be baptized in the name of the Lord. Then they asked him to stay a few days.” Acts 10:38-46

C. GOD SAVED A GOVERNMENT EMPLOYEE’S ENTIRE HOUSEHOLD!

Paul preached Christ to the Philippian Jailer’s entire Household, which included all the household servants as well as Cornelius’ Extended Family.

“And the (head guard) of the prison, awaking from sleep and seeing the prison doors open, supposing the prisoners had fled, drew his sword and was about to kill himself. But Paul called with a loud voice, saying, ‘Do yourself no harm, for we are all here.’
Then he called for a light, ran in, and fell down trembling before Paul and Silas. And he brought them out and said, ‘Sirs, what must I do to be saved?’
So they said, ‘Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved, you AND YOUR HOUSEHOLD.’ Then they spoke the word of the Lord to him and to all who were in his house… And immediately HE AND ALL HIS FAMILY WERE BAPTIZED … Now when he had brought them into his house, he set food before them; and he rejoiced, having BELIEVED IN GOD WITH ALL HIS HOUSEHOLD.” Acts 16:27-34

#6 GOD LOOKS AFTER THE NEEDS OF THOSE WHO MAY NEED A FAMILY AND A PLACE TO CALL HOME!

“God sets the solitary in families.” Psa. 68:6

“Pure and undefiled religion before God and the Father is this: to visit ORPHANS and WIDOWS in their trouble” James 1:27

“But suppose a widow has children or grandchildren. They should first learn to put their faith into practice. They should CARE FOR THEIR OWN FAMILY. In that way they will pay back their parents and grandparents. That pleases God.” 1 Tim. 5:4, NIRV

#7 GOD HAS ORDAINED PARENTS TO PROVIDE FOR THEIR FAMILIES.

“But if anyone does not PROVIDE FOR HIS OWN, and especially for those OF HIS HOUSEHOLD, he has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever.” 1 Tim. 5:8

“If any believing man or woman has widows, LET THEM RELIEVE THEM, and do not let the church be burdened, that it may relieve those who are really widows.” 1 Tim. 5:16

“She also rises while it is yet night, and provides food for her HOUSEHOLD, and a portion for her maidservants.” Pro. 31:15

“That the older women likewise, be reverent in behavior, not slanderers, not given to much wine, teachers of good things— that they admonish the young women to love their husbands, to love their children, to be discreet, chaste, HOMEMAKERS, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God may not be blasphemed.” Tit. 2:3-5

#8 GOD USES THE ALREADY DEVELOPED NETWORK OF TRUSTING RELATIONSHIPS AMONG FAMILY AND FRIENDS AS A NATURAL PLACE TO EVANGELIZE.

“Jesus was getting into the boat. The man who had been controlled by demons begged to go with him. Jesus did not let him. He said, ‘GO HOME to your own people. Tell them how much the Lord has done for you. Tell them how kind he has been to you.’ ” Mark 5:18-19, NIRV

“The next day John was there again with two of his disciples. He saw Jesus walking by. John said, ‘Look! The Lamb of God!’ The two disciples heard him say this. So they followed Jesus.
Andrew was Simon Peter’s brother. Andrew was one of the two disciples who heard what John had said. He had also followed Jesus. The first thing Andrew did was to FIND HIS BROTHER Simon. He told him, ‘We have found the Messiah. Messiah means Christ. And he brought Simon to Jesus.”

#9 GOD USES THE RELATIONSHIPS IN CHRISTIAN FAMILIES TO EVANGELIZE & DISCIPLE GENERATIONS TO COME.

“I thank God, whom I serve as did our people of long ago. I serve God, knowing that what I have done is right. Night and day I thank God for you. Night and day I always remember you in my prayers. I remember your tears. I long to see you so that I can be filled with joy. I remember your honest and true faith. It was alive first IN YOUR GRANDMOTHER Lois and IN YOUR MOTHER Eunice. And I am certain that it IS NOW ALIVE IN YOU ALSO.” 2 Tim. 1:3-7
I want you to continue to follow what you have learned and are sure about. You know the people you learned it from. You have known the Holy Scriptures ever since you were a little child. They are able to teach you how to be saved by believing in Christ Jesus.” 2 Tim.3:15

#10 GOD USES THE FAMILIES & HOMES AND OF BELIEVERS TO GATHER & GROW CONVERTS.

“Greet Apelles. He remained faithful to Christ even when he was tested. Greet those who live in the home of Aristobulus. Greet Herodion, my fellow Jew. Greet the believers who live in the home of Narcissus.” Rom. 16:10 – 11
“Greet Priscilla and Aquila. Greet those who live in the home of Onesiphorus.” 2 Tim. 4:19

#11 GOD HAS DESIGNED THE FAMILY TO BE ORDERLY IN TERMS OF ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES.

“Wives, follow the lead of your own husbands as you follow the Lord … Husbands, love your wives. Love them just as Christ loved the church ... A husband also must love his wife. He must love her just as he loves himself. And a wife must respect her husband.
Children, obey your parents as believers in the Lord. Obey them because it’s the right thing to do. Scripture says, ‘Honor your father and mother.’ That is the first commandment that has a promise. ‘Then things will go well with you. You will live a long time on the earth.’ Fathers, don’t make your children angry. Instead, instruct them and teach them the ways of the Lord as you raise them.” Eph. 5:22-6:4

# 12 THE PROVING GROUND FOR CHURCH LEADERS IS THE FAMILY. GOD USES THE OBEDIENT LIVES OF CHURCH OFFICERS TO LEAD CHURCH FAMILIES BY EXAMPLE.

“Here is a saying you can trust. If anyone wants to be a leader in the church, they want to do a good work for God and people … He must be faithful to his wife ... He must be worthy of respect. He must welcome people into his home… He must manage his own family well. He must make sure that his children obey him. And he must do this in a way that gains him respect ... An elder must be without blame. He must be faithful to his wife. His children must be believers. They must not give anyone a reason to say that they are wild and don’t obey.” 1 Tim. 3:1-4 ; Tit.1:6

# 13 GOD WANTS THE CHRISTIAN HOME TO BE PROTECTED AGAINST FALSE TEACHERS & FALSE TEACHING.

“Suppose someone comes to you and doesn’t teach these truths. Then don’t take them into your house or welcome them.” 2 John 1:10

“I, the elder, am writing this letter. I am sending it to the lady chosen by God and to her children.
Many people have tried to fool others. These people have gone out into the world. They don’t agree that Jesus Christ came in a human body. People like this try to trick others. These people are like the great enemy of Christ. Watch out that you don’t lose what we have worked for. Make sure that you get your full reward. Suppose someone thinks they know more than we do. So they don’t follow Christ’s teaching. Then that person doesn’t belong to God. But whoever follows Christ’s teaching belongs to the Father and the Son. Suppose someone comes to you and doesn’t teach these truths. Then don’t take them into your house or welcome them. Anyone who welcomes them shares in their evil work.” 2 John 1-11

SOMEBODY IS WAITING TO HEAR FROM YOU!

“Hey, drop me a call sometime, I’d love to hear from you!”

Such are the words of friends, neighbors and associates who want to hear from us.

Such a request is most often driven by a desire to re-establish communication or pick-up on a previous conversation.

What would you do if GOD invited YOU to drop HIM a call?

Well, truth be told, He really DOES!

Yes, the Lord of this vast universe is waiting to hear from YOU!

And to encourage you to place that call, He’s even left His callback number … Jeremiah 33:3!

‘CALL to Me, and I will ANSWER you, and SHOW YOU GREAT AND MIGHTY THINGS, which you do not know.” Jeremiah 33:3

God offered this call invitation to His persecuted and imprisoned prophet Jeremiah.

Note that this invitation to call is sent in the form of a threefold promise.

(1) First, if Jeremiah placed this call to God, he’ll by no means get a busy signal, a request to leave a message, or any other form of delay.

If Jeremiah CALLED, God promised to ANSWER his call.

(2) Second, if Jeremiah called God, God would not only answer the phone, but also disclose some pretty amazing information to him, indeed, some “great and mighty things”.

Such great and mighty things included God’s promise to answer to Jeremiah’s earlier prayer for the future regathering of the Jews scattered among the nations …

“For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the LORD, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope. Then you will call upon Me and go and pray to Me, and I will listen to you. And you will seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart. I will be found by you, says the LORD, and I will bring you back from your captivity; I will gather you from all the nations and from all the places where I have driven you, says the LORD, and I will bring you to the place from which I cause you to be carried away captive.” Jeremiah 29:11-14

(3) Such “great and mighty things” would also include an answer to Jeremiah’s concern for God to rebuild the devastated city of Jerusalem and restore the Temple destroyed by the Babylonians, as echoed by the prophet Daniel …

“O my God, incline Your ear and hear; open Your eyes and see our desolations, and the city which is called by Your name; for we do not present our supplications before You because of our righteous deeds, but because of Your great mercies. O Lord, hear! O Lord, forgive! O Lord, listen and act! Do not delay for Your own sake, my God, for Your city and Your people are called by Your name.” Daniel 9:18-19

While Jeremiah hoped for such a restoration to materialize sooner rather than later, God informed him that there would be a significant delay before such a glorious future for his people, the Jews, would be realized. Jer. 33:3 ff

But His plan to eventually do so had the iron-clad promise of God Himself …

‘Behold, the days are coming,’ says the LORD, ‘that I WILL PERFORM THAT GOOD THING which I have PROMISED to the house of Israel and to the house of Judah…” Jeremiah 33:14

Now I would never be so audacious as to claim that every single promise God has made to one of His prophets is applicable to us today, but I do see a few principles that apply to our conversations with the Lord.

FIRST, LIKE JEREMIAH, WE TOO CAN TAKE ADVANTAGE OF GOD’S OPEN INVITATION TO CALL UPON HIM IN OUR TIME OF NEED.

“For we do not have a High Priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but was in all points tempted as we are, yet without sin. Let us therefore come boldly (“to speak freely”) to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.” Hebrews 4:15-16

This invitation has no conditions as to time of day or night, circumstance, or nature of one’s questions or problems.

SECOND, LIKE JEREMIAH, WE TOO CAN BASE OUR REQUESTS UPON THE ROCK-SOLID PROMISES OF GOD’S WORD.

Jeremiah’s squarely based his requests upon the promises God gave to him.

“If you abide in Me, and MY WORDS ABIDE IN YOU, you will ask what you desire, and it shall be DONE for you.” John 15:7

“For all the PROMISES OF GOD in Him are Yes, and in Him Amen, to the glory of God through us.” 2 Cor. 1:20

THIRD, LIKE JEREMIAH, WE TOO CAN TRUST GOD TO FULFILL THE PROMISES IN HIS WORD REGARDLESS OF ANY POSSIBLE DELAYS.
We must always keep in mind the factor of God’s timing, as the outworking of His plans rarely line up with our anticipated or hoped for timetable.

King Solomon understood this factor of God’s timing …

“He has made everything beautiful IN ITS TIME.” Eccl. 3:11a

As did the prophet Habakkuk …

“For the vision is yet for an APPOINTED TIME; But at the end it will speak, and it will not lie. Though it tarries, WAIT FOR IT; Because IT WILL SURELY COME, it will not tarry.” Habakkuk 2:3

“ONE MAN’S TRASH, ANOTHER MAN’S TREASURE!”

Or so the saying goes.

This is a picture of my previous scooter, which bit the dust a year ago last April.

A great brother in the Lord has a knack for hanging on to things, so he offered to store its remains in one if his sheds, just in case its parts could be used for another scooter.

Well, I’m more than happy to announce that this friend’s habit of saving seeming useless “leftovers” paid off BIGTIME today!

The replacement scooter I had bought last April was the EXACT SAME MODEL as the previous one which died a year ago last April after about 10 YEARS of excellent service.

You may recall how the Lord brought a replacement scooter out of nowhere when a neighbor who saw me riding my scooter called me over to the curbside to tell me how he had refurbished the same model scooter and then gave it to a disabled friend of his. And how the neighbor had even chosen the EXACT same, highly visible “safety orange” paint color!!

A year ago this past April the neighbor called me to tell me his disabled friend no longer needed it, and I bought it for a mere $200.

Fast forward to a week ago when this same neighbor came over to repair a flat tire sustained on the same scooter he sold to me a year ago last April.

While doing so, when he went to re-inflate the flat tire, it split apart from dry rot.

Enter my buddy from church, the one mentioned above who has the knack for saving things instead of just trashing them.

He showed up today to fix the flat, and guess what he brought with him?

YUP, the two like new tires he took off of the previous machine he had stored for me at his place.

Anyone else would have simply regarded the old broken down scooter as useless and only worthy of the trash heap … but not brother Mike.

He ardently went to work, and in no time at all he successfully switched out the two rotted tires for the two like new tires.

He also brought along his brand new, portable air compressor which worked like a charm.

RESULT?

I’m “back on the road again” (can almost hear Willie Nelson singing his tune that goes by the same name).

I keenly watched this dear brother perform his “mechanical magic”.

This was quite a remarkable feat because nearly two years ago he suffered the total loss of the use of four of his fingers on his left hand due to nerve damage incurred during a MAJOR surgical error.

So he actually uses his left hand pinky finger in concert with his right healthy hand to do whatever needs getting done.

He’s repeatedly been able to use his saved parts to restore things for others because he doesn’t allow this to stop him from using saved parts to turn “one man’s trash into another man’s treasure”.

And all this to graciously help others like myself who have outdated items for which there are no longer any replacement parts! (Mind you, both scooters are vintage, made 25 years ago in 1999!!).

Kind of reminds me of another “Friend” Who delights in taking otherwise useless, broken and abandoned lives and turns them into “treasures” that bring glory to Him!

Jesus once described His mission as that of RESTORING people’s LIVES to a right relationship with God…

“For the Son of Man did not come to destroy men’s lives but to SAVE (RESTORE) them.”

He did so by paying our individual sin debt through His death on the cross.

So many of Jesus’ miracles of healing served to show how He can and will RESTORE the SOUL of every person who will confess and turn from their sins and receive His forgiveness by faith in His shed blood.

WHICH BRINGS ME FULL CIRCLE TO MY GOOD FRIEND WHO FIXED MY SCOOTER, DISABLED LEFT HAND NOTWITHSTANDING.

Read below an account where Jesus healed another man with a crippled hand and restored it to perfect health …

“And, behold, there was a man which had his HAND WITHERED. And the religious leaders asked Jesus saying, ‘Is it lawful to heal on the Sabbath days?’ that they might accuse him.

And Jesus said unto them, ‘What man shall there be among you, that shall have one sheep, and if it fall into a pit on the Sabbath day, will he not lay hold on it, and lift it out? How much then is a man better than a sheep? Wherefore it is lawful to do well on the Sabbath days.’

Then saith Jesus to the man, ‘Stretch forth thine hand. And he stretched it forth; and IT WAS RESTORED WHOLE, like as the other.” Matthew 12:10-13

THE WORST ANTI-SEMITE IN HISTORY

When people hear the term, “Anti-Semite”, they often recall the powerful individuals and nations that hated the Jews and then had the audacity to act-out their hatred on a murderous scale rarely seen in history.

Names like Haman and Hi**er come to mind as prime examples of entities who freely chose to attempt to annihilate every last member of the Jewish population among them.

The reason for these attempts to annihilate an entire race of people?

Because they were JEWISH!

As insane a scenario as this was, it was the bottom line rationale from Haman, Hi**er and so many others like them.

But, just like all liars and murderers, Haman, Hi**er and others cloaked their actual motives under the lying guise of a supposed “threat” which the law-abiding Jews posed to the existence, peace and prosperity of their nation.

Their true motives were irrational, unfounded HATE that was implacable and DEADLY.

Nothing more, nothing less.

When we dive deeper into this saga, we discover that there is truly only ONE person who can legitimately lay claim to the title, “THE WORST ANTI-SEMITE IN HISTORY”.

He has been working overtime behind the scenes from day one to thwart and undermine God’s plan for mankind in general and the Jewish people in particular.

1st, THE WORST ANTI-SEMITE IN HISTORY HATES GOD.

The worst anti-semite in history began his campaign when he attempted a failed attempt to overthrow God’s reign, a coup de tat of unprecedented magnitude.

“ ‘Thus says the Lord GOD: ‘You were the seal of PERFECTION, full of wisdom and perfect in beauty.
You were in Eden, the garden of God; Every precious stone was your covering: The sardius, topaz, and diamond, Beryl, onyx, and jasper, Sapphire, turquoise, and emerald with gold. The workmanship of your timbrels and pipes Was prepared for you on the day you were created.
You were the ANOINTED CHERUB who covers; I established you; You were on the holy mountain of God; You walked back and forth in the midst of fiery stones. You were PERFECT IN YOUR WAYS from the day you were created … UNTIL INIQUITY WAS FOUND IN YOU.” Ezek. 28:12-15

This ludicrously large scale of usurping authority was plotted and attempted by, of all persons, one who was once was the most decorated, powerful, gifted resident in the entire universe!!

Lucifer (Satan) had it all … but, as the lust for more greater and authority always does, it left him unsatisfied and willing to take a risky gamble at undermining and overthrowing God’s design for him and the rest of creation.

In an instant of time sometime eons-past, the angel of LIGHT lost everything to become the prince of DARKNESS!

“How you are fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! How you are cut down to the ground, You who weakened the nations!” Isa. 14:12

And guess Who was right there to witness this consequential moment of Satan’s ejection out of Heaven?

Why, none other than Jesus Christ!

“Then the seventy returned with joy, saying, ‘Lord, even the demons are subject to us in Your name.’ And (Jesus) said to them, ‘I saw SATAN FALL LIKE LIGHTNING FROM HEAVEN.’ ” Luke 10:17-18

Thus began the age-old battle for control of God’s entire creation.

2nd, THE WORST ANTI-SEMITE IN HISTORY HATES ALL OF HUMANITY BECAUSE THEY ARE MADE IN THE IMAGE AND LIKENESS OF GOD.

When someone hates someone else so much, they desperately try to inflict serious damage to the persons and things that mean so much to the object of their hatred.

This was the route the devil took

He could never again get close enough to God to harm Him, so He started his doomed campaign by targeting God’s most prized creation … MAN!

If the devil could get to man and hurt him, he would have succeeded in hurting the heart and plan of God (at least temporarily).

By deceitfully seducing and persuading Adam and Eve to disobey God’s most clear command to abstain from eating fruit from the forbidden tree, the devil won a HUGE victory, a victory that spread death throughout all of Adam and Eve’s descendants, even right down to our present day.

So one might have to reluctantly give the devil a victory in Round One of the cosmic battle for the souls of men.

3rd, THE WORST ANTI-SEMITE IN HISTORY HATES GOD’S CHOSEN PEOPLE, THE JEWS.

For centuries Satan has personally led his furious yet futile campaign to utterly destroy the Lord’s people, the Lord’s chosen, first by enslaving and killing them in Egypt, then attacking and killing them via the evil tribes possessing the Promised Land, and then through the discriminatory and deadly efforts of Anti-Semites like Haman in Persia.

Satan’s baseless, totally irrational hatred for the Jews can be seen in a Biblical snapshot where the devil is seen attempting to annihilate the Jews via a centuries-long “flood of persecution” …

“And another sign appeared in heaven: behold, a great, fiery red dragon having seven heads and ten horns, and seven diadems on his heads. His tail drew a third of the stars of heaven and threw them to the earth. And the dragon stood before the woman who was ready to give birth, to devour her Child as soon as it WAS BORN. She bore a MALE CHILD who was to RULE ALL NATIONS with a rod of iron. And her Child was CAUGHT UP TO GOD AND HIS THRONE.” Revelation 12:3-5

Here we see an all-out declaration of war as the devil recruits and rallies his forces to short-circuit God’s plan to send a Redeemer Who would die a substitutionary death to pay man’s sin debt.

This was what Satan saw as his checkmate move to put an end to God’s people once and for all … and, thanks be to God, it also completely failed.

Jesus Christ WAS born, He DID die for our sins, and He DID Rise from the grave and ASCEND into Heaven … and He WILL RULE THE NATIONS!

4th, THE WORST ANTI-SEMITE IN HISTORY HATES GOD’S ELECT PEOPLE, CHRISTIANS.

One would think Satan would “get it” that he’ll never win and give up while he’s “ahead”.

Yet his hatred for God knows no boundaries, even if it’s clear as crystal that his defeat and doom are more than sure.

Enter the newest “apple of God’s eye”, God’s beloved Body of Christ.

While the devil continued and still continues to pour out His uncontrollable, unmitigated hatred for God’s people, he also added the Church to the high value targets on his hit list.

Recall how he didn’t stop his war against God’s people, but instead, ramped it up by persecuting the Church in previously unimaginable ways.

Satan didn’t waste any time prosecuting his “take-no-prisoners” war on the Church.

No sooner had the Church been born, he unsuccessfully attempted to END her internally by infiltrating her ranks with sinfully compromising brethren. (Acts 5:1-11)

Following this he tried to end the Church externally by taking out (by way of public, brutal ex*****on) Stephen, one of the Church’s earliest, boldest and most articulate spokespersons.

“You stiff-necked and uncircumcised in heart and ears! You always resist the Holy Spirit; as your fathers did, so do you. Which of the prophets did your fathers not persecute? And they killed those who foretold the coming of the Just One, of whom you now have become the betrayers and murderers, who have received the law by the direction of angels and have not kept it.”
When they heard these things they were cut to the heart, and they gnashed at him with their teeth. But he, being full of the Holy Spirit, gazed into heaven and saw the glory of God, and Jesus standing at the right hand of God, and said, ‘Look! I see the heavens opened and the Son of Man standing at the right hand of God!’
Then they cried out with a loud voice, stopped their ears, and ran at him with one accord; and they cast him out of the city and stoned him. And the witnesses laid down their clothes at the feet of a young man named Saul. And they stoned Stephen as he was calling on God and saying, ‘Lord Jesus, receive my spirit.’ Then he knelt down and cried out with a loud voice, ‘Lord, do not charge them with this sin.’ And when he had said this, he fell asleep.” Acts 7:51-60

Not content with the significant damage inflicted upon the membership of the infant Church, he declared “all-out war” on Christ’s Body, arresting, imprisoning, torturing and even murdering any and all who professed the Name of Jesus as their Lord and Savior.

A wholesale persecution of the Church broke out, led by Herod, and expanded by none other than one of Judaism’s poster boys, the Pharisee named Saul of Tarsus.

“Saul made havoc of the church, entering every house, and dragging off men and women, committing them to prison … Then Saul, still breathing threats and murder against the disciples of the Lord, went to the high priest and asked letters from him to the synagogues of Damascus, so that if he found any who were of the Way, whether men or women, he might bring them bound to Jerusalem.” Acts 8:3 ; 9:1-2

Next Satan went after the “big fish”, namely its chief leaders, the apostles Peter and James.

“Now about that time Herod the king stretched out his hand to harass some from the church. Then HE KILLED JAMES the brother of John with the sword. And because he saw that it pleased the Jews, he proceeded further to seize Peter also. Now it was during the Days of Unleavened Bread. So when he had arrested him, he put him in prison, and delivered him to four squads of soldiers to keep him, intending to bring him before the people after Passover.” Acts 12:1-4

Beginning in the first century and continuing on to our present day, Satan’s lethal campaign to destroy the Church has left countless lives of God’s people dead in its merciless wake.

Having fully accomplished His payment for all of our sins, Jesus exited the world stage and sent the Holy Spirit to birth and begin the existence of His new people, the Church, the Bride of Christ.

And, most interestingly, just GUESS “WHO” that Church includes?

Messianic JEWS!

Indeed, a whole grand band of similarly saved Jews in the end times will one day lead the final and greatest gospel harvest our world will ever see!

While the book of Revelation does have its share of symbolism, this particular text is as plain and clear as the Holy Spirit could make it!

The apostle John’s description of this spiritual “band of brothers” certainly doesn’t require the services of a rocket scientist to decipher the identities of the people named in this passage.

WHO ARE THEY??

Well, a simple glance at their spiritual ancestry as stated in the text reveals that THEY ARE JEWS !!!!! (HELLO???)

5th, THE WORST ANTI-SEMITE IN HISTORY WILL SEE HIS CAMPAIGN AGAINST GOD AND ALL OF GOD’S PEOPLE COME TO A FINAL AND FIERY END.

God has reserved a one –way ticket reservation to Hell for Satan …

“Then He will also say to those on the left hand, ‘Depart from Me, you cursed, into the EVERLASTING FIRE PREPARED FOR THE DEVIL AND HIS ANGELS.” Matt. 25:41

Once in hell, the devil will no longer be able to harass, persecute or kill ANY of God’s people, and that includes the Jews He will have so gloriously redeemed!

And that, my friend, can be the wonderful epitaph on your own tombstone!
