If you saw this week’s edition of the ‘Around the Table with MESA’ , you saw that we recently caught up with two of our dedicated , who shared their thoughts on the importance of Volunteering at MESA📬

Volunteers Pattie Rees and Molly Ann Clair are both relatively new members of our MESA Team, having joined us in May and September of last year, respectively🩵 They come in as much as their schedules allow to shop for our Food Pantry Clients, sort through boxes and stock the shelves with items like fresh produce and breads, and check our coolers to see which items will need restocked🍞
Pattie explains that she most enjoys Volunteering to see the smiling faces of the fellow Volunteers and the Clients we serve🤲 “The warmth and gratitude from the individuals we serve is overwhelming. The ability to give back to the community which I so greatly love is profound,” she explains.
When asked about why they feel MESA’s mission is important to Madison County, they both acknowledge the prevalence of food insecurity everywhere, but particularly right here in our backyard. “The mission of MESA is dedicated to ensuring that all families experience food security. MESA’s Volunteers are passionate and caring for the residents of Madison, which reflects their desire to directly impact lives in our community,” Pattie shares. Molly elaborates that many of us may also be in need of financial assistance at different points in our lives, and that she loves knowing she can do her part to ease some of the worries of our neighbors.
