It’s with a heavy heart that we must share that Robert Reid has passed away. He was a fixture at the store—our unofficial employee, store greeter, and door checker—always lending a helping hand with the trash, stocking the cooler, or unloading supplies. We’re sure you’ve seen him around the store, (with a cup of coffee in hand!) and always ready to help others in the neighborhood. I often called him my security guard when I had to work alone. We will definitely miss him. We've had so much loss in our little community this year, and they have all been like family to us. We miss all of them! Prayers appreciated 🫶

Madison County has lost a tremendous person, icon, author, legend, all of those words and more apply to Jimmy Graves. If you've been to Madison, you've probably been to Graves Mountain Farm and Lodges . And usually in reverse, you came to Graves Mtn Lodge and just so happens to be in Madison. If you grew up here, you were lucky to experience the magic often.
We pray for comfort for the Graves family and ALL of those impacted by such a great man. (Former Chamber President Donna DeJarnette, Rachel and Jimmy Graves and myself pictured here from 2013). Rachel and Jimmy were voted Business Persons of the year for 2012, and could have been every year!!

Business Persons of 2012, (voted on by Chamber Members), Rachel and Jimmy Graves!! Jimmy had knee surgery in November so we were unable to surprise them then.

Happy Easter, Madison County!

This project paves the trail so visitors can simply drive to the summit of Old Rag and take in the magnificent views. Featuring drive-by rock scrambles and roundabout 360-degree views that make you feel like you're on top of the world, there's no wonder why Old Rag is the most popular destination in Shenandoah!
