Ningĩ Musa akĩĩra Harũni atĩrĩ, “Ĩra mũingĩ wothe wa Isiraeli atĩrĩ, ‘Ũkai mbere ya Jehova, nĩgũkorwo nĩaiguĩte gũteta kwanyu.’ ”
Hĩndĩ ĩrĩa Harũni aaragĩria mũingĩ wothe wa Isiraeli-rĩ, makĩrora na mwena wa werũ-inĩ, na kũu makĩona riiri wa Jehova ũrĩ itu-inĩ.
Jehova akĩĩra Musa atĩrĩ, “Nĩnjiguĩte gũteta kwa andũ a Isiraeli. Meere atĩrĩ, ‘Hwaĩ-inĩ mũrĩrĩĩaga nyama na rũciinĩ mũkarĩa mĩgate mũkahũũna. Hĩndĩ ĩyo nĩmũkamenya atĩ niĩ, nĩ niĩ Jehova Ngai wanyu.’ ”

Walisafiri kutoka Elimu, na mkutano wote wa wana wa Israeli wakafikilia bara ya Sini, iliyoko kati ya Elimu na Sinai, siku ya kumi na tano ya mwezi wa pili baada ya kutoka kwao nchi ya Misri. Na mkutano mzima wa wana wa Israeli ukawanung’unikia Musa na Haruni, huko barani; wana wa Israeli wakawaambia, Laiti tungalikufa kwa mkono wa Bwana katika nchi ya Misri, hapo tulipoketi karibu na zile sufuria za nyama, tulipokula vyakula hata kushiba; kwani mmetutoa huko na kututia katika bara hii, ili kutuua kwa njaa kusanyiko hili lote.
Ndipo Bwana akamwambia Musa, Tazama, mimi nitawanyeshea ninyi mvua ya mkate kutoka mbinguni; na hao watu watatoka nje na kuokota kila siku sehemu ya siku; ili nipate kuwajaribu, kwamba watakwenda katika sheria yangu, ama sivyo. Kisha itakuwa siku ya sita, ya kwamba watayaandaa hayo watakayoleta ndani, nayo yatakuwa ni mara mbili kuliko wayaokotayo kila siku.
Musa akamwambia Haruni, Haya, sema na mkutano wote wa wana wa Israeli. Njoni karibu mbele ya Bwana; kwa kuwa yeye ameyasikia manung’uniko yetu. Ilikuwa Haruni aliponena na huo mkutano wote wa wana wa Israeli, wakaangalia upande wa bara, na tazama, utukufu wa Bwna ukaonekana katika hilo wingu. Bwana akasema na Musa, akinena, Nimeyasikia manung’uniko ya wana wa Israeli; haya! Sema nao, ukinena, Wakati wa jioni mtakula nyama, na wakati wa asubuhi mtashiba mkate; nanyi mtajua ya kuwa mimi ndimi Bwana, Mungu wenu. Ikawa wakati wa jioni; kware wakakaribia, wakakifunikiza kituo; na wakati wa asubuhi umande ulikuwa juu ya nchi pande zote za kituo. Na ulipoinuka ule umande uliokuwa juu ya nchi, kumbe! Juu ya uso wa bara kitu kidogo kilichoviringana, kidogo k**a sakitu juu ya nchi.
Wana wa Israeli walipokiona, wakaambiana, Nini hiki? Maana hawakujua ni kitu gani. Musa akawaambia, Ndio mkate ambao Bwana amewapa ninyi, mle.

*WEDNESDAY - 23/07/2025*

*PRAYER INTENTIONS.....*

1. We pray for all those facing challenges in becoming responsible and loving parents, that they may receive guidance and grace in fulfilling their roles.

2. We pray that the example and wisdom of grandparents may inspire the younger generation to parent with patience, compassion, and steadfast love.

*MEDITATION*

*(1 Thessalonians 2:7–8) “But we were gentle among you, like a nursing mother taking care of her own children. So, being affectionately desirous of you, we were ready to share with you not only the gospel of God but also our own selves, because you had become very dear to us.”*

🎈🌾 In today’s scripture, St. Paul speaks of a gentleness and deep affection that mirrors the essence of good Parenting, offering not only teachings, but one's very life in love. This verse captures the heart of what it means to parent in a Christian spirit: to nurture with tenderness, to instruct with example, and to love with self-giving devotion.

Yet today, many young parents face uncertainty, fatigue, and confusion in a world that often devalues parental vocation. This is where the legacy of grandparents becomes crucial. Their lived wisdom, prayerful presence, and enduring patience become a wellspring of support and guidance for struggling parents.

Let us reflect on how today’s families especially young parents can rediscover parenting as a holy calling. And may the elderly, especially grandparents, be affirmed in their role as guardians of legacy, models of love, and sources of strength.

You are the God of generations, the Keeper of covenants, and the Restorer of homes. In Your loving wisdom, You chose Saints Anne and Joachim to be the parents of the Blessed Virgin Mary, and grandparents of Your beloved Son, Jesus Christ.

We come before You in this novena,
seeking the divine blessings of love and family. Look with mercy upon our homes, our marriages, our children, and our elders. Heal what is broken, restore what is lost, strengthen what is weak, and preserve what is holy.

May the example and intercession of Saints Anne and Joachim inspire us to value the spiritual wealth of our elders,
to honor our grandparents, and to walk in the wisdom of those who came before us. Teach us to see age not as a burden, but as a crown of glory; to see family not as a coincidence, but as a sacred trust.

Now on the first day of the week, Mary Magdalene came to the tomb early, while it was still dark, and saw that the stone had been taken away from the tomb. So she ran, and went to Simon Peter and the other disciple, the one whom Jesus loved, and said to them, “They have taken the Lord out of the tomb, and we do not know where they have laid him.” But Mary stood weeping outside the tomb, and as she wept she stooped to look into the tomb; and she saw two angels in white, sitting where the body of Jesus had lain, one at the head and one at the feet. They said to her, “Woman, why are you weeping?” She said to them, “Because they have taken away my Lord, and I do not know where they have laid him.” Saying this, she turned round and saw Jesus standing, but she did not know that it was Jesus. *PRAYER INTENTIONS.....*

1. We pray for all elderly couples, that they may be blessed with enduring love, mutual care, and joy in their golden years.

2. We pray that their companionship may be a beacon of hope, stability, and testimony to younger generations.

*MEDITATION*

*(🎈Psalm 92:14) – “They still bear fruit in old age; they are ever full of sap and green.”*

🎈🌾 Aging is not a decline, but a deepening of purpose. In today’s verse, the Psalmist poetically portrays the elderly as fruitful and full of sap, symbols of vitality, spiritual richness, and ongoing purpose. Elderly couples, especially grandparents, embody enduring love that has stood the test of time.

Their companionship reflects God's covenant love, faithful, patient, and forgiving. As our society glorifies youth and speed, today we pause to honor those who have grown together in grace and experience, whose union blesses families with wisdom, prayer, and example.

May their witness inspire younger couples to remain committed through every season of life, and may society rediscover the strength and stability that elderly couples bring to the family and Church.

We come before You in this novena,
seeking the divine blessings of love and family. Look with mercy upon our homes, our marriages, our children, and our elders. Heal what is broken, restore what is lost, strengthen what is weak, and preserve what is holy.

May the example and intercession of Saints Anne and Joachim inspire us to value the spiritual wealth of our elders,
to honor our grandparents, and to walk in the wisdom of those who came before us. Teach us to see age not as a burden, but as a crown of glory; to see family not as a coincidence, but as a sacred trust.
