This is the back page of the Weekly Volcano November newspaper. Please peruse it for potential gift ideas and follow the QR codes to see more products and services from these businesses. We would like to do this again for the December paper and I lowered the price to $50 to participate. The November paper is done and it will be hitting the streets early next week. I'm starting to think about the December issue now. I think I would like to repeat the catalog and expand it in December. I ended up offering those little catalog ads for half-off to the people in my circle and suddenly a lot of people wanted to do it all at once so I think in December I will make it $50 and see if we can fill multiple pages. The QR codes take the reader to the online stores of the local business so we can help people shop local online. I love this. Shopping local is becoming more and more important for all of us because it keeps our money circulating locally, creates more jobs, connects us more to our community and takes money away from corporate overlords.

If you have a business and a way for people to purchase from you online and you are located inside Pierce County, hit me up at [email protected] with a photo of your leader product (preferably on a white background), the name of your business, name of your product and a link to buy it online. Maybe if we get enough of these we can create sections like Gift Certificates, Arts & Crafts, Services, Food, Clothing, Antiques, Books, Health & Beauty, etc. Here is the November page:

We are excited to tell you that tonight Tacoma ART BUS will visit Jade & Co. Boutique!

Jade & Co was established in 2016 as a backyard hobby which grew into a plant boutique by Jennie, a registered nurse turned plant nurse. She teaches that there are parallels in caring both for people and plants. She specializes in bonsai (pronounced bone-sigh), the art of nature in miniature, as well as a monthly bonsai club. She also specializes in teaching classes like cemetariums, succulent pumpkins, and pressed botanicals. The plant boutique is a jungle of common plants as well as rare, collector plants. She said to tell you: Keep growing, we're rooting for you!

Tonight Tacoma ART BUS will be visiting Rise and Shine Cabaret Cafe in Parkland's Garfield Business District. Musicians may remember it as the former home of Northern Pacific Coffee Company. Boy has it had an upgrade since then!

Get ready to hop in the time travel machine because were going back to 1920s prohibition era with this one! Rise and Shine offers a bo****lo chic, speakeasy atmosphere with a bohemian twist, eclectic and refreshing menu items, and did we mention major VIBES!

Rise and Shine opened its doors during the heart of the pandemic September 2020 on a historical street known as Garfield Street. What started as a healthy vegan cafe has became a community staple offering its open mics every Thursday which serve as a creative outlet for so many! Alternatively, they are also the only business in Parkland that produces cabaret shows, with a new theme each month, you definitely want to see what mysteries await within the walls of Rise and Shine Cabaret cafe!

One of this week's stops on the Tacoma ART BUS is Crafty AF!

Crafty AF, owned by Jenn and Eric, is a vibrant space that embodies the spirit of creativity and community support. Opened nearly two years ago, the shop is a testament to Jenn’s belief in “making life beautiful” and her passion for uplifting the local community. At Crafty AF, the motto is to “Create and shop,” offering a diverse range of workshops including leather making, mixology, painting, resin art, and more. The store also boasts a curated selection of products from over 40 local makers, showcasing unique gifts and home decor crafted by talented individuals in the community. It’s a hub where creativity flourishes, and local artisans are celebrated for their skills and artistry.

* something else - use your imagination!

We will put your items inside the 25 VIP bags that we give to the passengers take home with them.

We also make a VIP bag unboxing video and share that on our socials to promote all the businesses that participate. How cool and easy is that? And its so much fun!
