Family owned & operated since 2012
One of Tahlequah’s hidden gems We now have 16 minis but not all of them are used for outings.

Our Story

About 8 years ago, we moved from town and bought a five acre ranch at the edge of Tahlequah, right down the road in front of the Church of the Nazarene that’s in Tahlequah. After seeing how the horses have helped my grandpa and I, we decided to officially become a miniature equine therapy organization. We are family owned and operated with a team of 11 family members. Normally, we bring

two or three depending on who can come and help. After a few years of having a big, old and ugly trailer meant for Thoroughbred horses, we got a black and white miniature horse trailer. A few years later, my uncle, who does wraps for vehicles and RVs among other things, came over and decided to spruce up our new trailer so it wouldn’t look so plain and boring. That’s how it came to have a trio of red, black and white horses on the front where the hookup is and the back as well with our name, Little Cherokee Horses and Miniature Equine Therapy. There are also some line designs in our colors in various places on the trailer. Despite what you might think, the ramp and door for loading and unloading the horses are on the side, instead of at the back. It also has three windows so the horses can look outside and they can come up so that they can stick their heads out when it’s parked and they are awaiting to be led out. We bring our horses to nursing homes, shut ins and mental health awareness events in and around Tahlequah as our free community outreach. If you would like to come out and witness the healing and calmness these wonderful horses emit or want us to bring a couple of them to one of the above locations, please contact us through the send message button at the top of our page. Thanks for your support!

These roosters just showed up one day at my mom and stepdad‘s house. The dark one came first then the lighter colored rooster showed up the next day. They’re good boys!

2025 has been an interesting year. In January I celebrated my birthday and got an ear infection. February I went to my church‘s first women‘s tea party with my mom. Midnight let me pick her up for the first time. I went to Philbrook during Spring Break. Went to the the Muskogee Renaissance fair for the 19th? time and got another ear infection. Crystal Bridges in July. In August we got goats. Celebrated my brother‘s birthday in September. October was a BAD month. I got sick twice. First with strep throat then had a severe sore throat a couple weeks later. Upside was I attended opera workshop‘s gala ball and the NSU music department‘s Halloween recital. In November, we had our first community-wide Dia de los Mu***os extravaganza at St. Brigid. This month I started my own business, went to Oklahoma City and just today had a CT scan for intermittent severe sharp abdominal pain around my scars I get when I breathe. It can happen then it doesnt happen again for days/weeks/a month/months. I’ll get my results in a few days AKA next year. Now it’s time to watch Beetlejuice Beetlejuice Beetlejuice and watch the ball drop. Happy New Year!

Just came back from OKC yesterday. It’s the start of a fresh, new beginning. We went to the botanical gardens, Rodizio‘s (Brazillian steakhouse), saw the lights and got ice cream. Then on our way back, we went to Olive Garden. Both Harvey Bakery (where I got the ENORMOUS croissant) and Willow Coffee has great matcha if you like that kind of thing!
