If you’re spending Father’s Day in Tahoe… here’s EXACTLY how I’d do it. 🌲🔥

And honestly?
If you’re local like me… the REAL move is waiting until a random Tuesday or Wednesday when everybody else is back at work. 😂

BUT… if Father’s Day weekend is your mission… here’s the perfect North Lake Tahoe adventure day:

☀️ START EARLY.
Like… EARLY early.

First stop:
Squeeze In in Truckee.

Ask for the “Filthy Richard.”
It’s technically off-menu now… but trust me. 👊

(It’s basically the Hangover Helper without sausage.)

And absolutely get cheese sauce for the spuds.

This place is legendary… but once Tahoe wakes up, half your day can disappear waiting in line.

After breakfast, walk around downtown Truckee for a bit.
Grab coffee.
Check out the shops.
Just slow down and enjoy the mountain town vibe.

From there you’ve got two choices:

🚂 OPTION 1:
Donner Train Tunnels

Super mellow hike.
Epic graffiti.
Amazing Donner Lake views.
Cool rock features for kids to climb around on.

OR…

🌄 OPTION 2:
Head straight to Eagle Rock.

Personally?
This is one of my favorite places in Tahoe.

Get there EARLY.

Watching the sunrise up there before the crowds hit is pure magic.
Most days I’m already hiking back down while everybody else is just starting up.

If you do Eagle Rock first…
THEN go grab breakfast at The Dam Cafe in Tahoe City.

It's a bit pricey but...DEFINITELY One of the best breakfast sandwiches I’ve ever had.

And the location is unreal right by F***y Bridge.

Walk the dam.
Check out the giant trout.
Cruise Tahoe City afterward.

From there, park near Commons Beach and walk the bike path through town all the way toward the campground side before looping back.

One of the best mellow walks in Tahoe.
Cool shops.
Lake views.
Coffee spots.
Perfect mountain town energy.

After that, head toward Incline Village.

If you can snag parking near Tunnel Creek or the old Bonanza area…
walk or ride the bike path.

Might honestly be one of the prettiest stretches around the lake.

By now you’re definitely hungry again 😂

So next stop:

🌯 T’s Rotisserie in Incline Village.

Cash only.
No cards.

And hands down…
one of the best burritos on the entire lake.

The owners are awesome and we make it a point to stop every time we’re over there.

Then finish the entire day by driving up Mount Rose Highway around sunset.

Time it right and you’ll pull over at one of the overlooks just as the sun drops over the lake.

You can literally walk a few feet from the car and get one of the best panoramic Tahoe views there is.

Perfect ending to the day. 👊

That’s my perfect North Lake Tahoe Father’s Day mission.

Just remember:
Tahoe in the summer gets BUSY.

The earlier you start…
the better your entire day will be.
