We are excited to announce our short story contest, designed to showcase and celebrate writers' talents. This contest allows writers to share their creative ideas and writing skills. ✨

We encourage you to participate in this contest if you are passionate about writing. You will have the chance to have your work evaluated by a panel of expert judges and compete for the grand prize.

The contest is open to all MC students, and the deadline for submission is March 31st, 2024.

All submissions should be emailed to [email protected] as an MS Word document/ PDF file with the email subject: Short Story Contest.

So, take advantage of this fantastic opportunity to showcase your writing abilities. Join the contest now and let your creativity flow!

Just recently published, “MC promotes African American history with Black Facts Competition” ❤️🖤💚

Two tickets to a Wizards game, please! 🎟️🏀

Two students tied for first place in a competition promoting positive education of Black History. The competition, which was open to all MC students from Feb. 1 to March 1, focused on Black facts highlighting African American history 📚✨

MC’s Boys to Men mentorship program and African & Diaspora Heritage Program held the event in celebration of 2023’s Black History Month ✊🏿✊🏾✊🏽✊🏼✊🏻

The first place winners were awarded gifts from the Dean of Student Engagement and TP/SS Student Affairs and received two tickets to a Washington Wizards basketball game! 🏀🥇

Just recently published, “Professor Vincent Intondi's academic work spotlighted at Excalibur event” 🗣️🔊

Coordinated by Assistant Editor Samantha Miranda, the Excalibur hosted speaker event, “Saving the World from Nuclear War” led by Montgomery College History Professor, Dr Vincent Intondi 🚫💣

Dr Intondi touched on June 12, 1982 and how such a pivotal day of American history paved the way for a new generation of anti-nuclear advocates. In discussion, Dr Intondi referenced his recently published book, “Saving the World from Nuclear War” 💬‼️

On behalf of the Office of the Vice President and Provost at the Takoma Park/Silver Spring Montgomery Collegecampus, the Excalibur was able to distribute 20 free copies of Dr Intondi’s book to attendees of the event 📖✨

Everyone say, “Happy Mother’s Day, Mother Earth!” 🤗💚 In addition to the garden’s lettuce and okra, the MC Grows community is hoping to expand the vegetation by planting tomatoes, peppers, corn, beans and squash around Mother’s Day 🫘🍅🌽

Recently published, “Last call as the Digital Learning (DLC) holds its final workshops” 💬‼️

Did you know that the TP/SS Digital Literacy Center (DLC) hosted workshops and open labs focused on the fundamentals of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel? The last open lab and workshop was hosted on Apr. 21 🧑‍🏫✨

Take advantage of the resources provided on campus! The DLC provides workstations that are available on the TPSS and Rockville campus 🧑‍💻✨
