Amanda Fleming with the Mat-Su Borough says water may be cloudy due to air in the lines. According to Fleming, there is NOT currently a boil water notice in effect. Anyone who experiences a further loss in water pressure should contact the on-call operator at 907-861-8347.

This last Susitna Writer’s Voice is drawn from the Talkeetna Elementary’s 4th grade class recent visit to KTNA. The children recorded podcast-style opinion pieces they have been writing. Twelve students responded to the question – “Would you rather be a parrot or an octopus?”. Tune in to hear what they had to say about this difficult choice. This week is part 2 of a 2 part show.

With a currently limited newsroom staff, KTNA is reaching out to find those who may be interested in helping tell our local news and stories. Two workshops focused on community journalism and lead by Phillip Manning are scheduled for tonight and Saturday morning. Tune into to Su Valley Voice to hear the discussion on what is news, why it’s important and how we go about reporting it.

This week on Su Valley Voice we’re discussing the topic of community journalism. KTNA listeners consistently rate local news as the number one programming content they value most. With a currently limited newsroom staff, KTNA is reaching out to find those who may be interested in helping tell our local news and stories. Two workshops focused on community journalism are scheduled later this week. KTNA Station General Manager Phillip Manning will be leading the workshops and will be a guest on the show along with Jeremy Hsieh [Shay] from Alaska Public Media and the Alaska Desk. Discussion will center around what is news, why it's important and how we go about reporting it.
