From Oct. 31 to Nov. 9, Florida State University’s Theatre program will perform “You on the Moors Now,” written by Jaclyn Backhaus, at the Lab Theatre. The production features a different style of performance, with audience seating on three of the four sides of the stage.

Four classic novel heroines — Elizabeth Bennett of Pride and Prejudice, Cathy Earnshaw of Wuthering Heights, Jo March of Little Women and the titular Jane Eyre — are highlighted in a non-classical manner. “You on the Moors Now” presents an alternative ending to each of their stories, connecting them from the very beginning of the performance.

Update: Reports of shots fired near Rec SportsPlex leads to lockdown; FSUPD says it was fireworks

Reports of gunshots near Florida State University's 104-acre rec center sports fields facility on FSU's Southwest Campus led to a brief lockdown Thursday night with officials later saying that they believe fireworks were to blame for the scare.

University spokesperson Amy Farnum-Patronis told the FSView Friday morning that following the investigation, FSUPD believes the sound were actually nearby fireworks rather than gunshots.

FSU offers study abroad programs during every academic term, allowing students to choose what best fits their academic and financial plans. However, recent travel policy updates in Europe could change how long students can stay abroad.

Starting on Oct. 12, 29 European countries will introduce the Entry/Exit System (EES), a system that records a traveler’s name, travel document data, biometric data and the date and place of entry and exit.
