PenAir Credit Union partnered with Manna Food Pantries to support military families and furloughed employees impacted by the government shutdown — providing nearly 20,000 pounds of food to those in need.

In Tallahassee last week, nearly 30 people from credit unions across the state joined the Florida Office of Financial Regulation (OFR) for a town hall that touched on a wide variety of issues.

Credit unions were hosted by OFR Leadership, and the meeting covered the national economic landscape, current economic trends in Florida, continued changes at the National Credit Union Administration (NCUA), state exam focuses, and 2026 legislative priorities.

The League was proud to help promote the town hall in coordination with OFR and is already working closely with the agency to schedule more town halls throughout Florida in 2026!

That’s a wrap on the 2025 CEO & C-Suite Summit!

Yesterday afternoon featured a series of engaging breakout sessions, and this morning, we closed out the conference with an insightful economic update from Mike Schenk of People Not Profit, LLC, and an inspiring session on creating extraordinary impact when the rules no longer apply, led by Bomi Anise, Founder of Lead 2 Impact.

Our CEO and C-Suite Summit kicked off this morning with an engaging lineup!

Attendees began with a welcome and icebreakers led by our SVP of Member and Industry Engagement, Tobi Weingart. They then explored digital innovation and strategies to captivate younger members with FI GROW Solutions’ Meredith Olmstead and Penne VanderBush, CSE, CeM. The morning concluded with an insightful look at the state of the system and an overview of advocacy influence from our President, Samantha A.M. Beeler.

Last week, our Manager of Federal Advocacy, Ibby Dickson, met at FAIRWINDS Credit Union in Orlando to host Congressman Darren Soto (FL-09) for a discussion on how credit unions are meeting needs and addressing challenges across the 9th District.

Darren Soto for Congress has long supported legislation that empowers credit unions to better serve veterans, small businesses, and their communities—while helping cut red tape through modernized financial reporting thresholds.
