Walter shared updates on the Coalition’s work and talked about the long-term vision for strengthening Tampa Bay’s historic q***r district.

The team also tackled some of the week’s wildest headlines, from a drunk raccoon to the heartbreaking story of a cruise passenger who died after being served 33 drinks.

Today we honor World AIDS Day, a global day of remembrance, awareness, and action observed every year on December 1st. Established in 1988, it was the first-ever international health day created to focus attention on the HIV/AIDS epidemic and to support those affected around the world.

World AIDS Day began as a way to humanize the crisis, challenge stigma, and ensure that the lives lost were never forgotten. Over the decades, it has grown into a powerful reminder of both the progress made and the work still left to do.

It’s important because millions of people worldwide continue to live with HIV/AIDS, many without access to life-saving treatment or support. Stigma remains a barrier. Discrimination remains real. And education, prevention, and community care remain essential.

Today, we remember those we’ve lost, honor those living with HIV, uplift caregivers and advocates, and recommit ourselves to fighting stigma and ensuring access to health care, compassion, and human dignity for all. ❤️🌎
