Why would anyone leave a package balanced on top of a mailbox when the front porch is right there?

I drove home and found my delivery sitting out in plain sight where anyone passing by could see it. It could have fallen off, blown away, or disappeared before I even got back.

The porch was easy to access and only a few steps away, so leaving it in the most obvious and unsecured place possible makes absolutely no sense.

I know it was a small package, but that doesn’t mean it should be treated carelessly.

Would you report this, or let it go since the package was still there?

How does a grocery delivery end up outside someone else’s garage instead of at the address on the order?

My groceries were marked as delivered, but there was nothing anywhere near my door. After walking around and searching for them, I finally found the bags sitting outside a completely different garage.

The order included milk and frozen food, and I have no idea how long everything had been sitting out before I found it.

Most of the groceries looked okay, but that does not necessarily mean the refrigerated items were still safe. I paid for delivery so the order would arrive at my door, not so I could search the neighborhood for it and guess whether the food was still usable.

Would you ask for a refund, or let it go since most of the groceries appeared fine?

Since when does eating out on a Sunday come with a surprise fee?

We finished our meal, received the bill, and noticed a “weekend dining fee” added to the total. Nobody mentioned it before we ordered, and there was still a separate tip line underneath.

I understand that restaurants have higher operating costs, but quietly adding an extra charge after the meal feels wrong. Customers should be told about fees before they sit down and order, not discover them when it is time to pay.

It was not a huge amount, but that is not really the point.

Would you pay it without saying anything, or ask the restaurant to explain the charge?

APPARENTLY, A 23% TIP IS STILL NOT GOOD ENOUGH ANYMORE.

A customer ordered a simple breakfast.

Nothing fancy.

Just pancakes, sausage links, and a coffee.

The total came to $16.20 after tax.

The customer left $3.80, making the final amount an even $20.

That works out to around 23%.

For a basic breakfast, most people would probably think that was fair.

But the server apparently wrote a note on the receipt calling the tip “insulting.”

The message said rounding up does not really count as a tip and went on to vent about long shifts, stress, and barely making enough money to see the bank account move.

I understand why restaurant workers are frustrated.

They deal with demanding customers, low base pay, and unpredictable tips.

But is it really fair to unload all of that frustration onto someone who still left more than 20%?

At what point does asking for appreciation turn into shaming the customer?

Would you think the note was justified?

Or would it make you never return?

APPARENTLY, A 30% TIP IS NOT GOOD ENOUGH ANYMORE.

My wife and I went out for a normal dinner the other night.

The final bill was about $70.

We enjoyed the meal, thought the service was good, and left a $20 tip.

That is nearly 30%.

We were not trying to be cheap.

We were not leaving a few dollars and rushing out the door.

We left what most people would probably consider a very generous tip.

Then the waiter checked the receipt and said:

“If you can’t afford to leave at least $35, maybe you shouldn’t be dining out.”

A $35 tip would be half the bill.

Fifty percent.

I am sorry, but when did that become the expectation?

Tipping used to be a way to show appreciation for good service.

Now it feels like customers are being judged no matter how much they leave.

If 20% is no longer enough and nearly 30% still gets criticized, what number are people actually supposed to aim for?

At some point, the whole system becomes impossible to understand.

Would you still return to that restaurant after a comment like that?

Would you speak to a manager?

Or do you think the waiter had a point?

I KNOW DRIVERS ARE BUSY, BUT IS THIS REALLY ACCEPTABLE FOR A GROCERY DELIVERY?

I ordered groceries and paid the delivery fee, service charges, and a tip.

I had even messaged that I was only a few minutes away.

When I got home, everything had already been left outside on the porch.

The cases of water were sitting on wet concrete.

The eggs and grocery bags were mixed in with heavier items.

Food was left outside without much thought about how long it might sit there.

I understand that delivery drivers are trying to move quickly and finish their orders.

I am not expecting every bag to be perfectly lined up.

But there has to be a middle ground between taking too long and simply unloading everything wherever it fits.

Groceries are not cheap.

Some items can break.

Some food should not be sitting outside.

And when customers are already paying extra for the convenience, a little care does not seem like an unreasonable expectation.

Am I overreacting?

Would you report this?

Or is this just normal for grocery delivery now?

I CANNOT BELIEVE PARENTS THOUGHT THIS WAS A GOOD IDEA.

There were kids standing in the street today, waving down passing cars and trying to run a car wash right in the middle of the neighborhood.

I am all for kids learning how to earn money.

But there is a difference between setting up a small car wash safely in a driveway and sending children into the road to flag down drivers.

Cars are still moving through here.

People are backing out of driveways.

Delivery drivers are coming and going.

It only takes one distracted driver for something terrible to happen.

I contacted the HOA and filed a police report because this should not be happening in the middle of a residential street.

This is not about ruining anyone’s fun.

It is about basic safety.

Would you have reported it?

Or would you just ignore it and hope nothing goes wrong?

How does someone decide that their overflowing recycling bin is suddenly their neighbor’s problem?

I walked outside and found a pile of recycling sitting in my driveway. When I asked about it, my neighbor said their bin was full, so they left everything on my side “just until pickup day.”

Nobody asked me first. They just assumed I would be fine with having their boxes and bags piled up on my property.

I don’t want to turn a small issue into a neighborhood argument, but this feels incredibly entitled. If your bin is full, shouldn’t you figure out your own solution instead of making it someone else’s responsibility?

Would you move everything back to their side, or let it go to keep the peace?

THIS RESTAURANT LOST MY BUSINESS BEFORE I EVEN SAT DOWN.

I was about to walk inside when I noticed a sign posted at the entrance.

It read:

“NO ORDERING WATER AS YOUR ONLY DRINK. EVERY GUEST MUST PURCHASE A BEVERAGE.”

At first, I thought I had misunderstood it.

But no.

Apparently, ordering a meal is not enough anymore. Every person at the table must also spend money on a drink.

I understand that businesses need to make a profit.

I understand that drinks have a higher markup than food.

But there is something frustrating about telling paying customers that water is not good enough.

Some people do not want soda.

Some people do not drink alcohol.

Some parents are already calculating how much dinner is going to cost for the whole family.

And some people simply prefer water with their meal.

Why should that be treated like a problem?

Maybe the restaurant has its reasons.

But when the first message customers see is basically a spending requirement, it does not exactly make the place feel inviting.

I decided to leave.

Would you have stayed and ordered a drink anyway?

Or would you take your money somewhere else?

I opened the door expecting to find my food on the porch… and instead found dinner sitting on the hood of my car.

The porch was clean, dry, and only a few steps away, so I’m honestly trying to understand the thought process here.

Nothing was missing, the bag was still sealed, and at least I found it before driving away. But out of every possible place to leave a food delivery, why choose someone’s car?

Would this annoy you, or is it strange enough that you’d just laugh and let it go?
