Yesterday was really f*cking special. 🩷

Thank you to everyone who came out to Florida Avenue Brewing Co. for our very first in-person Sister Resister Meet Up.
We loved hearing all the different reasons that brought people into the room.

Some were already deep in local politics. Some were curious about what Sister Resister actually is. Some wanted to meet new friends who care about the same things they do. We had people from all across the Tampa Bay area come out to meet us!

A couple of people told us they’d been feeling alone and were just really glad to be around people who understood.

While sitting there listening to everyone, the community we’d been imagining suddenly had faces, voices, and stories.
That’s Sister Resister.

Come curious. Come furious. Come knowing exactly what you want to do next, or having absolutely no clue! Nobody is checking your activism résumé at the door. 😂

We want this to be a place where women and allies find each other, talk honestly about what’s happening in our communities, and figure out what getting involved looks like for them.

Yesterday, that looked like people sitting around tables talking, laughing, asking questions, swapping stories, and making new connections.

We left already talking about the next one. 🖤
