Edna Skinner was best known for her role as Kay Addison on the popular television comedy series Mister Ed. She appeared on the show from 1961 to 1964 as the friendly neighbor of Wilbur Post, the owner of the talking horse Mister Ed. Her warm personality and natural comedic style made her a memorable part of the series during its most successful years.
Skinner worked in theater and appeared in several films and TV programs during the 1950s. She had roles in movies such as Friendly Persuasion and performed in Broadway productions including Oklahoma!. Although she never became a major Hollywood star, she built a respected career as a dependable character actress known for her charm and screen presence.
Skinner retired from Hollywood and became highly respected in the world of fly fishing. She wrote hundreds of fishing articles and became known as an expert outdoorswoman, creating a unique second career far removed from television fame. Even so, fans of classic television still remember her most for her role on Mister Ed, which remains the highlight of her acting history.
