What’s nicer than afternoon tea? 🫖

An afternoon tea is a meal typically eaten between 3:30pm and 5pm consisted of light “finger food” like mini sandwiches and pastries accompanied, off course, with high tea.

It was originated in the 1840’s between ladies who climbed the echelons of society. Just when Queen Victoria was engaged in the ritual it became a formal occasion.

Today we can find tea rooms like serving afternoon tea with all the nice experience. I also enjoy the same ritual at home, taking a break in the afternoon drinking tea with snacks in my patio 🙃

So many ways to travel and see the world. One I would like to highlight today is pet and house sitting.

You have the opportunity to travel around the world staying for free at homeowner’s places who also are traveling for many reasons but need someone to keep an eye on the house and the most important taking care of their loving pets.

This is the perfect solution for both parties, either if you are hosting or sitting. We all know how expensive and inconvenient is for the pets to stay at boarding places. And, if you are sitting, you can save a ton of money in accommodation and food.

Important to note that you must love pets, of course, and be flexible. This won’t be that type of trip where you spend all day long out and about. This type of travel is more to experience the places like a local, you will have some time to explore touristic areas but just remember you will have a little friend at home depending on you and a family who has put their trust on you while they are away.

I personally like Trusted House Sitters to find sitting opportunities. The company has been around for many years and they run background check on everyone who would like to have a membership plus the recommendations. Both parties have a profile with details you can check and there is always the option to an interview to know more about the people and everything involved.

Like everything when traveling you must be careful and do your homework, take your time to research the area and the people you will be dealing with.

If you are interested check out my link in bio for a 25% off your membership and feel free to reach out with any questions.

Happy sitting! 🤗🐶🐱✈️🏠

The Willis Tower, home of the highest public viewing area in the US, is the 12th tallest building in the world and the 2nd tallest building in North America. 🏙
The Skydeck, located in the 103rd floor, offer spectacular views of the city.
On a clear day you can see 4 states from there: Illinois, Indiana, Wisconsin and Michigan. ✈︎

The Savannah Belles ferries will take you from Downtown to Hutchinson island; it’s a great option for viewing the iconic Riverwalk from another perspective.

These ferries were name after 4 amazing women from Savannah’s history:
- The Juliette Gordon Low: she founded the first American Girl Scout troops in her hometown in Savanna.
- The Susie King Taylor: she gained her freedom from slavery at age 14 and contributed to Civil War efforts by serving as a nurse to the black soldiers and by teaching them to read and write. She also opened one of Savannah’s first schools for African-American children.
- The Florence Martus: she became the unofficial greeter of ships into Savannah. Legend has it that not a single ship came into port without her waving her white handkerchief or lantern at it during a 44 year span. Her statue continues to greet visitors to the port from Morrell Park on the riverfront.
- The Mary Musgrove: she served as an interpreter for General Oglethorpe during the founding of Savannah and played a crucial role in negotiations with Tomochichi and the Creek Indians, convincing them to peacefully accept the new colony in their territory.

Something to remember next time you visit Savannah 🚢 ✈︎

Standing into the gates of hell 🌋

There are so many stories about the Volcano Masaya, part of the first and largest National Park in Nicaragua.

The active volcano has been an object of fear and reverence for thousands of years.

It’s been said that the cross on top of the volcano was to keep Satan from coming out of the gates of hell and to protect the indigenous Nicaraguans.

The indigenous also believed the volcano was the lair of gods that needed to be appeased by hurling children and virgin girls into its depths. ✈︎

Disney is celebrating their 50th anniversary 🎉

What started as just a small theme park became one of the most popular tourist destinations in the world. Back in the day, a ticket entrance cost $3.50 😆

Magic Kingdom in Orlando was actually the second one in the Disney family, opened 16 years after Disneyland in California. After that the other parks were added:

🔹Epcot
🔹Hollywood Studios
🔹Animal Kingdom

Additionally 2 water parks:

🔹Typhoon Lagoon
🔹Blizzard Beach

Not to mention the hotels within the resort. It’s called Disney “world” within reason; it’s huge!

And all these just in Orlando, there are other 12 parks in six different resorts on three different continents 🌏🌍🌎

If you went 5 years ago you probably will have to go again cause the parks are always changing. It’s worth the trip though, they are all amazing. ✈︎
