All staff at Moonkeep Studios extend our deepest condolences to the family and friends of Mr. Satoru Iwata-san.
His impact on the community and industry of electronic media and entertainment is intense, immense, and irreplaceable. There is no doubt that his concepts and ideals have helped many gamers, artists, musicians, graphic designers, and... so many other individuals in a near infinite manner. From family fun to inspiration, his contribution is incredible. Each individual experience with his work has been unique, and will be fondly remembered for many, many years. From the wonders of Earthbound, to the silly and lighthearted Nintendo direct specials, and even the personally handled "Iwata Asks" features... Mr. Iwata has always been involved 209% with his work. It would be no understatement to call what he did his passion.
His focus was on providing and creating experiences. Not just for profit, but for the sake of creating memories, and bringing people together. Nothing is more admirable than the way he looked after his co-workers, and drove the community forward.
Years back, Iwata wound up taking a personal cut to his pay, to ensure that his staff never came up shorthanded. This is just one way he was different.
Nevertheless, we must now bid farewell to one of gaming's greatest.
May you rest in peace, Mr. Iwata; and may you, and your love of life, never be forgotten.
