** SIGNIFICANT SEVERE OUTBREAK POSSIBLE **

A significant severe weather outbreak is possible across portions of the north-central and central United States on Monday afternoon, evening, and overnight hours. A Moderate (4/5) risk has been issued for portions of Minnesota, Wisconsin, and Iowa. This is where there is the best overlap of severe weather ingredients that may lead to intense damaging wind gusts, large hail, and the risk of strong tornadoes. Severe weather is expected in other severe weather risk zones as well. Prepare for severe weather if you are in any of the outlined risk zones.

Stay tuned for updates!

** DEVASTATING HURRICANE MILTON MAKING APPROACH TO FLORIDA **

While Milton may no longer be a Category 5 hurricane due to increase wind shear, the storm is widening in size and bringing impacts across much of the Florida peninsula, including strong tornadoes. 🌪️ Landfall is expected late tonight as a Category 3 storm, currently projected south of Tampa, bringing the worst storm surge away from the Tampa Bay. Up to 15 feet of storm surge is now expected south of Tampa, which will be a life or death situation for those who do not evacuate. Best wishes for all of those in Florida! 🌀

💀 MILTON SKULL-LIKE SHAPE 💀

Milton briefly appeared as a “skull” this evening on infrared satellite imagery- a foreboding tale of what is to come to Florida. Many stronger hurricanes in the past have developed this unique appearance. Landfall is expected as a Cateogry 4 hurricane slightly south of Tampa very early Thursday morning (12-3am). Storm surge of 12ft+, wind gusts of 100+ mph, and 6-12” of rain are expected for the Florida peninsula. Please push your friends and family to evacuate if they are in an evacuation zone. Time is running out! ⚠️🌀

** FLORIDA BRACING FOR MAJOR HURRICANE MILTON **

Here is the latest update from the National Hurricane Center. While Major Hurricane Milton will gradually weaken (may be a bit over-done), EXTREME impacts will be felt in Florida from Milton. Storm surge greater than 12ft, widespread wind gusts over 100mph, and a widespread 5 to 10 inches of rainfall late Wednesday through Thursday evening across the Florida peninsula.

As I mentioned, I believe this storm will take longer to weaken. Those on the west coast of Florida should be bracing for a potential Category 4 impact. It is also important to not focus on the exact category, as storm surge and rainfall will still be rather extreme if it is a 3, 4 or a 5 at landfall.

TAKE ACTION, PREPARE BEGINNING NOW. DO NOT WAIT UNTIL LAST MINUTE. CONDITIONS WILL BEGIN TO WORSEN BY WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON. IF YOU ARE UNDER AN EVACUATION ORDER, FOLLOW THOSE ORDERS. THIS WILL BECOME A LIFE-OR-DEATH SITUATION FOR THOSE WHO DO NOT EVACUATE.

Stay tuned and feel free to ask questions!

** LIFE-THREATENING STORM SURGE **

A life-threatening storm surge is expected across western Florida late Wednesday night into early Thursday morning as the center of Major Hurricane Milton closes in on landfall.

What is storm surge? Storm surge is the amount of water that rises with the push of wind of a hurricane above the normal astronomical tide. Storm surge is one of the deadliest aspects of a hurricane as the water rises very fast. If you are not prepared and do not evacuate, you will risk your life.

Please alert family and friends in the path of this storm surge. All evacuation orders need to be followed seriously!
