Twelve years ago, a six-year-old Wilson Andersen got his introduction to Jesuit Tigers baseball when his eldest brother Carter made the team during the 2015 season.

All these years later, Andersen has bled Tiger Blue as a four-year standout - reaching the Florida High School Athletic Association State Final Four each season.

Making his fifth pitching appearance, Andersen delivered 100 pitches over 6 1/3 shutout innings, striking out 12 and leading Jesuit to a 9-0 victory in the Class 4A state championship game.

His second state title - Jesuit's eighth as a program - ends his storybook high school career.

Celebr-EIGHT! Jesuit senior Ben Burke throws up his hands after sending a strike to first base to record the final out of the Tigers 9-0 state championship game win against Orlando Bishop Moore - the program's eighth state crown.

Senior Wilson Andersen struck out a dozen over 6 1/3 innings, allowing just one hit to lead his team to victory in the FHSAA Class 4A title game. Andersen, a four-year starter and state final four participant for the Tigers, also had two RBI hits in the win.

Burke was 3-for-3 with two stolen bases and four runs scored, and Griffin Boesen drove in four runs (plus three RBI in Tuesday's semifinal win).

After only helping at the plate and on defense in his first two trips to the FHSAA state final four, Kaden Waechter was hungry to step on the mound for the first time from Fort Myers' Hammond Stadium - and Waecther ate all he could - tossing a complete game, allowing one earned run as Jesuit won its Class 4A state semifinal game, 5-2, against Green Cove Springs Clay on Tuesday.

Griffin Boesen doubled twice and drove in three runs, while the Tigers offense clicked early and scored in four innings to book a spot in Wednesday's title game.

We made the trip, so we might as well play two, right?

Jesuit wins Tuesday's Class 4A state semifinal 5-2 over Green Cove Springs Clay and will play tomorrow in the championship against the winner of Orlando Bishop Moore and Plantation American Heritage (currently in a weather delay).

Miami True North Classical Academy jumped out early, using a an aggressive small-ball style, while senior RHP Will Foss was a force on the mound on both sides of a two-plus-hour lightning delay, as the Titans defeated Berkeley Prep 9-4 in the FHSAA Class 2A State Semifinal game.

We are 1.5 hours into our “lightning delay” in the 2A FHSAA state semifinal game. Middle of the 5th Berkeley Prep trails Miami True North 4-1.

Here’s a caught stealing from Buccaneers senior C Carson Binder to SS Lucas Farrar, which ended the top-second.

We’ll see if the delay will fire up the Buccaneers for a comeback. We’ll continue to update you over on our Twitter (X) account. ⚾
